“They are a different pack and if they try to challenge me for my mate, then I will have to fight to the death.”

Raven gasps and pulls her broad sword from the ether. “That is not fucking happening. No one fights over a child of Ares.”

I grip the hilt of my sword at my hip, wondering why this never came up when we were in Tristian’s territory the last time we were in wolf pack lands.

“What the fuck, Greyson? Do you still think we are helpless females who can’t fight our own battles?” I growl.

“No, I know better, but this is the way of shifters. They see something they want and go after it, even if it means a challenge.”

“I will challenge anyone who challenges you.” Raven glares at the shifters out the window as Jayden pulls to a stop in front of a two-story building.

“Let’s try to get through this without anyone being challenged,” Jayden says and squeezes my thigh before getting out and jogging around the SUV.

I smirk at Jayden as he opens my door. “What if they try to challenge you for me?”

“We aren’t shifters, and we don’t play by their rules, baby. I will unleash my magic on any motherfucker who thinks they can touch you.” He wraps his hand around mine and pulls me into his body.

Butterflies flutter in my gut and my toes curl at the declaration. That is exactly what I wanted to hear from him. I kiss him hard and groan as his tongue traces my lips, requesting entrance. I open immediately and his tongue dances with mine. I wind my arms around his neck and lean into his body.

Jayden breaks the kiss. “You’re mine.”

“Yes,” I moan.

I hate possessiveness but with the shifters eyeing us and the fact that Jayden really wants me the way he says he does, I can’t help but love the way he’s talking to me.

His arms tighten around me as he pulls me closer. “Tell me I’m yours, baby. I need to know that.”

“You’re mine,” I growl and slam my lips to his again.

A throat clears not far away and I have to break the kiss too soon. I lean my forehead against Jayden’s as I turn to the older man standing across from us with his arms crossed over his chest.

“You’re the ones who are going to help us with the crazy bulls?” He raises a skeptical brow. “Maybe we are completely fucked.”

“Randall,” Greyson says, holding his hand out to the older man.

“Greyson.” Randall nods and shakes his hand. “What is the meaning of this? You’re all a bunch of kids.”

“A bunch of kids who are your only hope to defeat those bulls.” I cross my arms over my chest.

Jayden’s arms weave around my waist and he rests his chin on my shoulder.

“How the hell do you think you can defeat something my shifters can’t?” Randall growls.

“Because we’re not shifters.” I smirk and glance at Raven.

“You may need to show him for him to believe it, B.” Raven raises a brow.

Uncrossing my arms, I let magic trickle to my palms and crackle with blue lightning. Randall leaps back. My skin on my arms tingles as Jayden lets his shadows slither up my arms.

“Those bulls are from Greek history. The best people to defeat them are demigods.” I close my fist, cutting off my magic, but Jayden’s shadows are slower to disperse.

He’s doing that on purpose. I turn to him with a furrowed brow and the shadows drop from my arms.

“I get that you think you can do this and have some wicked powers, but you’re barely adults. Maybe we will find another way.” Randall runs a hand down his face.

“We were told by a goddess to help you, so obviously it’s important.” I throw my hands up in the air.
