Raven snickers before closing the door and a second later, Jayden is behind me, stilling my hands.

“It will be okay. We’ll find them and get out of town.” He squeezes my hands. “Adrian knew what he was doing when he left last night.”

“We’re taking too long, Jayden. You saw the news reports. We may already be too late.” I lean my head back against his chest.

Jayden kisses my forehead before taking a step away from me and rummaging through his bag. He pulls his clothes out and heads to the bathroom, eyeing me the whole way. “We could save time and shower together.”

“That would not save time. There’s another bathroom. I’ll take my shower there.” I grin and shake my head.

“That’s no fun. I’ll use the other bathroom. I don’t want Greyson seeing you like that or Adrian and Draven picking the perfect time to come back.” He changes direction, heading for the bedroom door.

“What about Raven?” I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.

“Raven is like a sister to me. I guarantee you she doesn’t want to see me like this, but I’ll hurry down the hall and make sure she’s not there.”

Jayden pulls me close and kisses my lips softly. “I’ll be right back.”

“Okay, I’ll hurry.”

We don’t have time to waste. We need to find the others and get to Colorado before the bronze bulls take out the pack and the entire Colorado mountains.

I rush through my shower and change into soft jeans and another tank. The weather in Vegas is so different from the storms we’ve been having in California.

Once I’m ready and my bag is packed, I head out of the room. Jayden is waiting outside the door with a grin and grabs both our bags from me.

He grabs my hand and we meet Raven and Greyson in the living room. “Where do you think they are?”

“I don’t know,” Raven says. “Maybe we can ask around in the lobby if anyone has seen them?”

“I guess that’s as good a plan as any. Where are their bags? We can’t leave them behind.” I race to the door.

Jayden grips my hand, pulling me back so he can open the door for me. I roll my eyes but smile gratefully. He has really changed in the last few days and I can’t say that I don’t like the change. It’s just different.

We rush down the empty halls to the elevator bank and I jab at the button repeatedly. Every second we waste is a second we could be too late.

“Should we just take the stairs?” I grumble.

“We could but that’s nineteen floors and not exactly the same as the twelve you’re used to,” Jayden says with a grimace.

“Okay, we’ll just wait for the damn slow elevator,” I say just as a ding fills the quiet space and the doors open to an empty elevator.

We pile inside and I stab at the button for the lobby, praying we don’t have to make any stops on the way down, but as we get to the bottom, the doors open to complete chaos.

“What the fuck?” I whisper as we pile out of the elevator. There are police and news crews racing around the lobby as hotel guests stand around just watching.

Jayden grips my hand. “How are we supposed to ask if anyone has seen them with this going on?”

“What’s even happening here?” I ask.

Did Artemis lie and she really did come for the lions in the enclosure? That would be just like her but she usually wouldn’t do the dirty work herself.

“She didn’t, right?” I storm to the lion enclosure, pulling Jayden along behind me, but the lions are all still in their places, looking mildly inconvenienced by the drama unfolding around them.

I spin in a circle, searching for anything out of place.

“Shit. I knew they were watching me.” I point to the pedestal where the golden lion once sat in the lobby of the hotel.

Raven gasps. “Where’s the lion statue?”
