I glare at Draven. “You need to get over this petty bullshit. I’m not sleeping alone in the same room as you, ever.”

“You don’t mean that; you’re just too wrapped up in Jayden to see the truth.” Draven clenches his fist.

“What are you even talking about? Jayden and I were fighting when you assaulted me in the hallway. I wasn’t wrapped up in him then and I still didn’t want you,” I yell.

It’s probably a bitchy thing to say to him, but I have no idea how to get this through his head. There is no future where the two of us will ever be together.

Adrian puts his hands up and steps between the three of us. “I think we all just need to calm down. We’re all tired and don’t want this mission to fail before it ever begins.”

“Whatever.” Draven spins on his heel and walks out of the suite, slamming the door behind him.

I slump into Jayden’s chest and his arms tighten around me. “It’s exhausting just being around him.”

Raven takes a step toward the door with a curse. “The only one who can stop the mind control just walked out the door.”

“Motherfucker.” I run a hand through my hair.

What if we can’t find him? What if he decides not to help us after all and we can’t save Dax and the others?

“I’m going to go slap some sense into him.” Raven moves to the door.

Adrian’s eyes glaze over with a vision.

“Wait, Raven. Adrian is having a vison.” I grasp her arm and pull her back.

“We can’t let him get too far or we may never be able to find him.”

“Adrian will find him if he gets lost. He has the sight, remember.” I pat her shoulder.

Her expression is pained and a little pinprick of pain stabs me in my own chest. Half of the brainwashed students are her brothers. Dax is my main focus since he’s the one I know the best, but this mission isn’t just for him.

We have to get them all back and as much as I hate to admit it, Draven is the only hope we have of doing that.

“Just wait another second. Adrian will see what to do.”

Adrian blinks, slowly coming out of his vision, and I wait with bated breath for him to speak. “I’m going to find Draven. I think it’s best if you all sleep. You’re our best fighters and if you go into what’s to come exhausted, we might not come out of it alive.”

“That’s fucking ominous.” I shiver.

“It’s what I have seen, so get some sleep.” Adrian moves to the front door and opens it before walking out without a backward glance.

“Do you think he’ll find him?” Raven clenches her fist around the water bottle so tight it cracks under her grip.

Greyson takes the bottle from her hand and leads her down another hall in the opposite direction from where mine and Jayden’s bags are.

“Adrian will find him, mate. I have no doubt in my mind.”

“C’mon,” Jayden says and lifts me in his arms again. “We need actual sleep.”

“Then maybe sharing a room is a bad idea,” I say and kiss him softly.

“Nope, that’s the best idea. I sleep so much better with you in my arms.” His arms tighten around me and he lays me on the bed.

“Really? I think I may sleep better too.”

“Maybe?” he growls and strips his shirt off.

My mouth goes dry at the sight of his golden skin on display. Will I ever get used to seeing him like that?
