“Me too.” I sigh, flopping back in my seat.

“Um, guys?” Raven says, sounding panicked.

I turn to find Adrian’s eyes have gone white and he’s trembling.

“Well, shit. Nothing good comes from Adrian’s visions,” I huff out a breath.

There’s nothing we can do but wait for him to snap out of it, so I turn back around. Adrian comes out of it with a groan.

“I really wish I didn’t see that shit,” he grumbles, but a smirk spreads as I turn to look at him.

“What did you see?” I ask, but I’m sure I have an idea and I’m not really sure I want that confirmed.

Jayden is still shirtless in the damn driver’s seat and hearing that a vision of us together just slammed into Adrian is not going to make matters any better.

“I don’t think you really want to know.” He shakes his head, grinning.

“I do,” Raven cuts in, and I shake my head at her.

“If it is what I think it is, then no.” I cross my arms over my chest, but my cheeks heat when Jayden glances at me, smirking.

“What do you think it is, Beth?” His tone is husky and low. It makes me want to curl up in his arms.

Stop that. Gah. I need to stop. We can only be friends. We are working on being friends.

Even as I think the words, my cheeks heat further. A low chuckle that makes my skin tingle fills the car and I glare at Jayden.

“You know I will zap you, right?” I raise a brow at him.

“No zapping the driver. Besides, you don’t want me to die with how juiced up you are now, do you?” He never looks at me as he says the words, but they hit their mark.

I don’t want him to die. I said that probably a hundred times when I was trying to wake him. His back still has some angry red gashes on it, but other than that it’s healed. Thank the gods I remembered to ask the healer for supplies or we may not have been able to save him.

My power has kind of supercharged lately and I could hurt him, but my control and precision have also improved greatly.

“No, I don’t want you to die,” I admit softly as I pull my hands into my lap, covering them.

Could I accidentally kill him or someone else with all this power? I definitely don’t want that. How the fuck am I going to handle all this?

Raven bursts into a fit of laughter as she leans up, pointing out the window. “I think we’re here.”

I follow her finger to the windshield and a mostly naked girl in a bra and panties with rhinestones all over them is running down the street screaming.

I share a look with Jayden. “They are still coming out of the entrance.”

“Where the fuck is Orpheus?” Jayden barks, squeezing the steering wheel so hard I swear it creaks.

“He can’t die, but can he be injured?” I ask, chewing my lip nervously.

Jayden doesn’t answer, shoving his door open and slamming it shut with a bang behind him before rounding the car.

“Leave nothing behind,” he says when he opens my door for me.

I’m too stunned to respond but get out of the car with my bags in hand. Jayden lifts them out of my hands, puts the duffel on his back with his own, and hands back the small medical bag for me to carry.

He’s acting so weird.

“Isn’t that going to get heavy for you?” I try but fail to get the bag back and he saunters ahead of us.
