“Why would I see demons? I mean I get there’s an entrance close by, but if the entrance has always been there, then why wouldn’t I have seen them before?” he asks with a frown.

I peer over to Jayden with raised brows, and he huffs out a breath. “My father is weakening because his helm has been stolen and when Hades weakens so do the walls of the underworld. Things have been escaping.”

“Fucking hell.” He leans his head back in the chair, closing his eyes tight. “So, what do you need? Am I supposed to go with you?”

“No,” Jayden says too quickly.

I peer at him with a frown. What is that about? Is there a reason Jayden doesn’t want the shifter to go with us?

“Okay, so what then?” he asks in confusion.

“We just came to warn you and the pack that there might be a problem. We can’t kill them until Hades is back to his full strength and the underworld can hold them again.” I shift in my seat, glancing out the window.

We really need to get moving.

“Will the entrance be dangerous right now? Should some of my shifters come out there with you to help the humans or are the demons like the monsters and only sups can see them?” Greyson asks Jayden.

“Hades told me they are preying on humans.” I chew my lip.

“There isn’t a way to kill them right now so you would just be putting your shifters in danger if you come with us.” Jayden shakes his head.

“Okay, so you really did take a detour to come out here just to warn me to keep an eye out?” Greyson sounds suspicious.

“We’re all friends and you helped us last time. Of course we would warn you.” I frown at the shifter.

Why wouldn’t we warn him of danger?

“What if you need my help though?” He pulls Raven even closer.

“The underworld is no place for the living, Greyson.” Jayden sighs.

“I have my shell too. If we run into any problems where we have a question for you, then I can call you.” From my bag, I pull the large conch shell that I got from the Naiad that we helped in Arizona and show him.

“That makes me feel slightly better about my mate going to the underworld,” Greyson scoffs.

“It’s okay, we will get the person who stole the helm and be back in no time,” Raven says, leaning her head on his shoulder.

“That’s what you said last time,” he grumbles.

Raven kisses his cheek and moves to stand, but Greyson’s arms tighten around her, not allowing her to get up from his lap.

“Greyson, we have to go,” Raven complains, and I giggle as I stand up.

I let electricity crackle at my fingertips. “You need some help, Raven?”

Greyson throws his hands up in surrender, allowing Raven to scramble off his lap.

“You play dirty, B. I love it.” Raven chuckles.

“You can’t really blame me. I never get to see you,” Greyson growls, standing up and walking us to the door.

“We will talk to Rebecca about getting you a visitor pass through the wards,” I say and slide into my seat of the car.

“Thank you.” Greyson nods to me before wrapping his arms around Raven and pulling her away from us.

It’s adorable the way they whisper to each other, trading kisses. I turn away, closing the car door.

Jayden gets in on the other side, huffing out an impatient breath.
