I’m not complaining because once he is free, there is a whole new problem to deal with.

Raven jumps a crack that has lava filling it up and rolls to the ground next to me.

“Someone has to have your back.” Raven grins and presses her back to mine.

“We need to get to Jayden and Adrian and come up with a plan,” I say.

Claud laughs loudly as he swats ten demons, sending them into the depths of Tartarus.

“Fuck yeah, good job, Claud,” Raven shouts and pumps her fist in the air.

Typhon roars as one of the demons smacks into the lion head.

We are just pissing the monster off even more, great.

I don’t see another option though because those demons have not crawled out of the pit.

“Keep doing that, Claud. Send all the nasty demons into the pit,” I yell excitedly.

The grin on his face at our praise warms my heart.

Hecate screams at him. “You meddling cyclops. You are supposed to hate the Olympians. Why would you help them?”

“Not help Olympians, help friends,” Claud growls.

“That’s right, Claud. We help each other.” I grin back at the huge toddler.

Hecate is glaring daggers at Claud and magic flares in her palm as she mumbles something. Fuck, she’s about to spell him and I’m too far away to stop it.

“Jayden, put up a shadow wall,” I scream, pointing at Hecate.

Jayden’s eyes turn black and he throws up a wall between Claud and Hecate.

The magic slams into the shield and Jayden stumbles.

What is that? Did the magic hurt him from twenty feet away?

“Jayden?” I ask tentatively.

Jayden doubles over and my vision tints red. What did that bitch do to him?

I race forward and leap over the small crack but another roar shakes the ground and the crack widens. I scramble for the edge but I’m falling into the damn crack that is quickly filling with fiery lava.

“Beth,” Raven screams and reaches for me.

Her hand grasps mine, but the heat makes my palms sweaty and I am slipping.

“Grab my hand?” Raven says, holding out her other hand.

A demon with black skin and red eyes appears behind her.

“Raven, let go. Behind you,” I shout.

The demon lunges for her and runs its claws down her back. Raven screams and reflexively lets go of my hand and I continue to fall.

A girly scream escapes that I’m not proud of when a hand snatches me up out of nowhere. A big blue eye stares at me with fear.

“Okay, friend?” Claud asks, his lip wobbling.
