He sits up and a whine escapes me. “What are you doing?”
“Watching my shadows play with you.” He grins, batting my grasping hands away.
His shadows fill me while simultaneously licking at my clit.
Fuck, that feels way too good. I grip the grass at my sides and buck my hips up at the force of the thrusts from his shadows.
How did he do this? How can his shadows have me climbing so high so fast?
My magic sizzles beneath my skin, begging to come out and play with Jayden the way he’s playing with me.
I reach for him, but he backs away.
“I won’t be able to stop myself if you use your magic on me,” he groans.
“What if I don’t want you to stop,” I say and moan as his shadows pinch my clit.
“Don’t say that, Beth. I’m hanging by a thread here.” He shakes his head. “You’re so beautiful writhing on the ground like that.”
His hands fist at his sides as if he’s trying desperately to keep them to himself.
His magic thrusts inside of me hard and fast, hitting that spot. My back arches and he covers my mouth with his, swallowing the scream that bursts out of me.
Tingles race up my spine and to my scalp. My whole body convulses as white-hot euphoria tears through me.
Jayden breaks the kiss and smiles down at me. “Feel better?”
I breathe heavily as I come down from the high.
What the hell did he just do to me without even touching me? Gods, that man is dangerous.
Raven shifts nearby and I widen my eyes at Jayden.
“You guys aren’t even keeping watch. You done getting freaky?” Raven grumbles and yawns.
“Shut up, Raven.” I scowl at her but she’s grinning back at me. “Go back to sleep.”
“No, the two of you obviously can’t be trusted to keep watch alone.” She shakes her head and sits up.
She’s not wrong. The last time we were supposed to keep watch, we got into a huge fight and I stormed off. This time…
My cheeks heat in embarrassment and I turn away, not meeting anyone’s eyes.
Jayden pats my shoulder and chuckles under his breath. “That’s enough, Raven. I was on alert and nothing was coming for miles.”
“It must not have been very good then,” she challenges.
I scoff. “Bitch.”
“Raven…” Jayden growls.
“Fine, I’ll stop.” She crosses her arms over her chest. “Are you guys going to get some rest or what?”
“I’m too wired to sleep.” I blush again.
Fucking stupid skin. It gives away everything.
“I think it’s best if we just keep moving.” Jayden agrees. “We only have so much food.”
