“I think that is the best option.” I nod and step forward.

“We don’t have time to waste.” Jayden waves a hand at Theseus to lead.

The demigod turns on his heel and walks away, being sure to give Adrian a wide berth. I guess he isn’t ignoring that fact after all.

We make our way through the village and don’t see any demons lying in wait to ambush us. I breathe a sigh of relief that we don’t have to fight any more demons for now.

Raven and Jayden can use the break even if they say they are ready for battle. They both used a lot of energy with the demon attack.

Something glitters in the distance as we round a bend, and a small city comes into view. Crystal-blue water glimmers under the underworld’s sun.

“We’re here.” Theseus holds out his hands.

Jayden stares at the water. “The edge of Elysium.”

“Sounds like the name of a rock band.” I giggle.

“I’ve never been out this far,” Jayden mumbles.

“Hey.” I smack his arm. “No getting all doe-eyed.”

Jayden can’t be affected by Elysium the same way we can, right? I don’t want to think about the possibility of that happening.

“Right, it’s just more than I imagined.” He stomps forward.

“The prophetess’ home is this way,” Theseus says, pointing to the right.

We all follow behind him into the bustling city. There are more spirits here than I have seen in the rest of Elysium.

Did they all run here after the demon attacks or are the demons steering clear of this place?

Heracles and Theseus nod to a few people as we pass, and it strikes me how normal everything is in the underworld. I thought it would be different here.

We come up to a beautiful stone cottage and Theseus knocks on the door. A wizened old woman whose back is slightly hunched over answers the door and I frown.

No one in Elysium has appeared old so far, so why is she? It’s strange.

Adrian’s eyes widen as he stares at the woman. “Delphi?”

Wait, what the fuck? Does he mean what I think he means?

“Huh?” I ask, turning to Adrian.

“She’s the original oracle of Delphi,” Adrian says, awestruck.

“Yes, and you are a son of Apollo.” The old woman smiles at him.

She turns to me and Jayden with a frown. “I don’t like your kind.”

“What?” I ask in shock. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“Daughter of Zeus and son of Hades,” she spits out vehemently. “You are not welcome here.”

“We need your help. Demons have escaped and have been consuming the souls of Elysium. They are also in the human world, attacking humans,” I say.

“And what is it you think I can do about that?” the grumpy old bat asks, turning to Adrian.

“We need you to tell us where Hades’ helm is located before the realm becomes too weak and the Titans escape,” Adrian says, taking a step forward.
