I blow out a relieved breath and the smells of real food make me groan.

We quickly fill our plates to near bursting and walk to my table. Adrian and Raven follow behind us.

“I don’t think any of them are going to give up just because of a little hand-holding,” Raven mumbles.

“I think you are right, but it’s not going to change anything.” I shrug as I sit down next to Jayden.

Jayden groans. “We have enough to worry about. We don’t need them adding shit to our plates.”

Adrian drops his plate on the table, his expression unsure.

“You just bled with us, Adrian. Sit your ass down,” I say with a grin.

Draven storms to the table and crosses his arms over his chest. “I need to speak with you, in private.”

“I told you, Draven, I haven’t eaten in days. I am starving and have no time for your bullshit.” I pick up my fork and start eating.

“And what about Cross?” he demands.

Fuck, I almost forgot about Cross.

“He needs to ask Rebecca for permission to use the Poseidon floor. Your dad will be here as soon as he can.”

“You’re really not going to talk to me?” Draven asks angrily.

Jayden’s hand tightens in mine.

“I’m really not going to talk to you,” I say and go back to my food.

A slap catches my attention and I glance up to see Draven rubbing the back of his head and Hermes standing over him.

“Are you giving Bethany a hard time, son?” Hermes crosses his arms over his chest.

“She won’t talk to me, Dad. She’s slumming with a Hades descendent when she should be with someone better,” Draven yells.

I’m out of my chair in a second, electricity crackling in my palm.

“Someone better? Like you?” I scoff.

“Yes,” he says, glaring past me at Jayden.

“Jayden is ten times the man you will ever be,” I shout back at the idiot.

Hermes holds up his hand, asking me to wait before I fry his son. I nod and wait for him to speak.

“You took from her without her permission; that is not showing someone you are selfless and actually care,” Hermes says, glaring at Draven.

“But, Dad,” Draven grumbles.

“If you pursue her again, I won’t stop her from frying your ass next time. Now let’s go fix Mr. Cross’ pond.” Hermes grabs Draven by the scruff of his neck and they disappear from the cafeteria.

“Fucking idiot,” I huff as I flop back in my seat.

Jayden’s hand falls out of mine as he stares down at his plate.

This is such bullshit.

“Jayden,” I start, but he cuts me off.
