“Beth,” Raven warns.

“What? Campe is the definition of a bully. She waits until we are trapped by magic to threaten us with the whip. I hate bullies.” I shrug the best I can with my arms trapped at my sides.

Hecate raises a brow but doesn’t move to take the spell off me.

“We don’t have time for your temper tantrums, Campe.” Hecate waves a hand and we are moving.

Her magic is making me walk to my death. Fucking great.

Will my magic burn hers away? It’s worth a shot.

I focus on the magic binding my wrists and direct my electricity to them.

Another rumble breaks the ground, and a large crack splits the ground between my feet and opens up wider.

I dodge to the left and slam into Jayden. We both stumble but my hands break free of the bonds Hecate spelled them with.

My whip goes flying ten feet away. Fuck. That’s not good.

I reach out and grab Jayden to steady him. I wrap my hands around his wrists and let a small amount of electricity out before Hecate screams.

“Impossible,” Hecate bellows. “How did you break my magic?”

“I’m the daughter of Zeus, bitch.” I smirk and dodge to the right, nearly falling into the crack in the ground.

It’s quickly filling with lava from the river of fire and I groan at the heat.

“What the fuck are we going to do?” I ask Jayden.

He shakes his head. “I don’t know what we can do. The underworld is falling.”

I touch my necklace and the whip appears back in my hand.

Jayden’s shadows pulse around him and pool at his feet. Black darkens his blue eyes but he still seems to be in control, for now.

“I don’t accept that,” I growl.

I will not let these damn bitches win even if we are completely outnumbered.

A roar fills the air and I stiffen.

Hecate cackles again. “It’s happening. The Titans are escaping.”

“Just go with them,” I whisper to Jayden. “We need to stop anything coming out of the pit.”

“Agreed,” Jayden says and glances at Raven and Adrian.

Adrian nods. Can he see some way out of this? I fucking hope so.

Raven chews her lip. “Maybe just stop antagonizing the goddess of magic, yeah?”

“But it’s so much fun.” I grin.

“Beth,” Jayden warns. “Raven’s right. Wow, I never thought I’d say that.”

“Hey, rude.” Raven glares at Jayden, clenching her fists that are still trapped with Hecate’s magic.

“Guys,” Adrian says and tilts his head to the group of monsters and the stupid goddess surrounding us.
