Jayden says, “Greyson is a wolf shifter we met at Halloween who claims Raven is his mate.”

“A what now?” Rebecca asks with a raised brow.

I groan. This is not a conversation I want to have when time is of the essence.

“Like the human werewolf,” Raven says, shaking her head at Jayden.

I don’t blame her. That was a dick move.

I shoot Jayden a dirty look because he obviously doesn’t have any tact or all the details.

He has the good sense to look chagrined.

“I’m going to ignore the fact that you just told me shifters are real and move on.” Rebecca eyes Raven with disapproval. “I do not want to know what you all did on Halloween, do I?”

Demigods and shifters both hide what they are from the humans so it makes sense that they would hide from each other as well.

“Probably not since we were attacked by the Minotaur,” Raven pipes in oh-so-helpfully.

Jesus, these two are going to get all our weekend privileges taken away.

I rub at my forehead, feeling a bit of a headache coming on. “Okay, enough chitchat. We need to go pack. Did the Oracle have anything else to say about how we’re going to find the missing students?”

“No, the Oracle was unable to see anything else. Just that you will get help along the way. Trust your instincts, and try to make it back to the academy safely,” Rebecca says, dismissing us.

The halls are bustling with activity with faculty and staff going to their offices to probably lock up for the day.

I’m on edge, wondering who it could be that’s messing with the wards.

Who is taking the Hermes students from campus? It could be someone in this building right now.

I scan the hall with trepidation. Will the person jump out and try to stop us? Probably not. They wouldn’t want to blow their cover.

What could make someone betray us this way though?

“C’mon, let’s get to the dorms. I don’t like being here,” I say.

“I don’t think you should be alone, Beth,” Jayden says.

I glare at him because there’s no way I’m willingly giving him permission to come into my dorm, though that has never stopped him before.

“I don’t think any of us should be alone right now. Whoever is breaking the wards knows we are getting ready to go look for the missing students. They may try to stop us.” I scan the quad as we step out into the sunlight.

The clouds Cross called earlier have dissipated, but smoke still hangs in the air. It reminds me of the poor dryad from earlier.

I hope her friends are able to help her heal her tree.

Raven grins. “Agreed. We can start with me since I am on the lowly fifth floor.”

“We can just go up from there,” Jayden agrees.

I growl because I don’t want him in my space, but I have little choice now. It’s safest if we stick together.

“Fine.” We all jog over to the dorms, and the cool air conditioning beats down on me as soon as we get inside.

We take the stairs two at a time, not even bothering with the slow elevator. Most students who train regularly use the stairs, but going up to the twelfth floor is a pain sometimes.

The dorms are coed, and siblings all share a floor based on their godly parent.
