“I would like that. I’ll call Maksim too.”

“I would say to include Annika, but I don’t think she’ll feel the same way about Father’s death as we will,” Mila said.

“No, she won’t,” Dima replied.

“Until then, I think you and I need a change of clothes. I’m pretty sure Rian peed on my shirt earlier.”

Mila laughed. “That sounds like a great idea.”

CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT : MILA

THREE MONTHS LATER

My wedding daydawned bright and beautiful. It was bright in more ways than one since I woke up next to a snoring Kira in a lush suite at the Four Seasons. Just a couple of months ago, the two of us being together wouldn't have been possible with my banishment. It made me feel truly blessed to have her with me, even if she was snoring like a linebacker.

Although tempted to elbow her to stop, I ended up tickling her instead. “What the fuck are you doing?” she demanded.

Neither one of us could be accused of being a morning person. “Trying to get you to keep from snoring in my ear.”

“I do not snore.”

“Oh yes, you do. Like a bear.”

“Whatever,” she grumbled. She jerked the blanket over her head and started to roll back over.

“Hey, wake up. It’s my wedding day.”

She scowled at me. “Yeah, yourwedding day, not mine. So let me sleep a little longer.”

“Ugh, you’re such a grump.”

“What exactly did you expect? For you to wake up with me serenading you with love songs while birds flew around like we were in a Disney movie?”

I laughed. “I would’ve liked to see that.”

“Since you know I can’t sing, I’m sure you’re glad I wasn’t singing.”

“Did I tell you Kellan can sing?”

Kira groaned before pulling the bedspread over her. “Yes, you told me. Just like you told me he has a magical pierced penis and ridiculously quick refractory period.”

“He’s worth marrying just for that,” I teased.

She peeked out of the spread at me. “He’s worth marrying because he’s fucking perfect. Like if you look up the ‘perfect man’ on Google, you’ll find his picture.”

“You’re right. He is.” Sighing, I said, “I still can’t understand what the hell he sees in me.”

With a huff, Kira flung the covers off. “You’re joking, right?”

“No. I’m not.”

“Mila, you saved the man’s life. You were willing to give up your family for him. While those two things are worthy enough, you’re a stunningly beautiful woman with a nice ass and perky tits.”

“Kira!” I replied, while shoving her playfully.

“I’m sure Kellan appreciates your ass and tits very much.”

“While he does, I certainly hope that’s not why he’s marrying me. I mean, in a few years and a couple of kids, the ass and tits will be on the floor.”
