I laughed and grabbed my flowers from Andy, stepping forward and grabbing William’s arm. We walked down the aisle, pausing at the end for a picture before being whisked away for a moment alone. It was my request. I wanted a few minutes in private to digest that this man was my husband. The one who had saved me on a couple occasions and went to extreme lengths to make me smile, and the one man in this world who could make me see stars in every way and still leave me wanting more.
The door closed behind us, leaving us alone in the empty bridal suite. I reached out and grabbed his tie, using it to pull him closer to me and pressing my lips to his in a series of small kisses. “I can’t believe you’re my husband,” I hummed against his lips.
“Well, believe it, baby.” William pressed his lips desperately to mine, kissing me like it gave him oxygen.
“Mr. Carlisle, stop it. You’re going to ruin my makeup.”
“Is that a challenge?” He ran his thumb lightly over my lips, not pushing down enough to smudge it, but if he’d wanted to, he easily could have.
I shook my head and whimpered, opening my mouth and sucking his thumb into it. He widened his eyes and released a needy, feral growl. He lifted me in his arms, and in a few steps, he had my back against the wall. He took control of my lips as the door clicked open.
“There you are!” Katie came strolling in. “Why don’t you newlyweds save it for the honeymoon? It’s time for your grand entrance into the reception.”
She casually walked over and tucked a couple of loose hairs back where they belonged. My cheeks flushed with a warm blush. “Okay, fine. We’re coming.” I patted William’s shoulders, and he sat me back on the ground.
Katie walked out of the room, and I planted a light kiss on William’s cheek. “I love you so much.” Giving him another kiss, I stepped back and walked towards the door.
“I love you too.” He reached around me and twisted the doorknob, pulling it open. We could hear the crowd from down the hall, waiting for us to join them. “Right behind you, Mrs. Carlisle.”
