“A variety of fucking words?” Logan looked at Cole as if the vamp had lost his mind.

“Yeah, mother fucker,” Cole answered. “We coded the shit out of it, and I know that they’re at our cabin.”

“Let’s just go. We need more out searching for Aria anyway,” Zane insisted.

“Fuck you, dumbass,” Braden said. You honestly trust a bunch of random supernaturals searching for Aria?”

“I trust that we need help finding her, and if Enzo gets his damn hands on her, then all of the supernatural races are done. They’ll help us find her.”

“Zane’s right,” Val spoke up. “Aria is strong enough to protect herself. If anyone tries anything with her, she can snap her fingers, and they’re dead.”

“Seems that worked well for her when she was kidnapped,” Logan said.

“She wasn’t taken by born or turned vamps,” Val held her own for the first time since arriving. “She was taken by those created drones or whatever the hell you want to call them.”

“Let’s get wheels up and meet with this pack. I’m sending out a coded text over the untraceable phone. We need the vamps in that state to meet up. It’s going to take a damn army to get answers.”

“What about any fairies?” Zane asked. “We all know they move in and out of dimensions. We need a powerful one who could possibly get into my head and trace her if she’s in another dimension.”

“Son of a bitch,” Logan growled.

“Listen,” I finally spoke up again, “We need all the help we can get. If you guys think you can trust a fairy, then that’s what we use to trace her.”

“Zane,” Cole lifted his chin, “I can sense that my powers and the guys’ powers are magnified beyond what they should be sense Braden fed off Elle’s new and improved blood. I need to know if you feel any different besides your wolf-bite killing vamps.”

“I can sense that Val is weaker than she should be,” he said, eying the vampire. “I sense that she didn’t lose Aria because she’s the piece of shit you all think she is. Enzo is sending out something, and I can’t figure that part out, but somethingcreatedis blocking her and only feeding her what it wants her to see.”

“So, Val doesn’t get a vampire-smoking wolf bite, then?” Logan smirked.

“No,” Zane remained serious. “Val’s powers have been shut down, and I’m only able to pick up and scent out that shit afterlearningEnzo is fabricating things. He’s fucking with the universe, and I can feel that now too.”

“Anything else you can feel?” Braden asked. “This is the most fucked up bullshit I’ve ever heard.”

“When hasn’t anything in our lives been anything but that?” I snapped at Braden. “We all need to go with shit as it comes. Like I said, the only way to beat Enzo is to expect anything can happen. If things are developing in Zane, then they’ll probably start developing in the rest of us with this bond too. Nothing makes sense but finding Aria. We need to take anything we get as a gift and stop questioning shit until she’s found.”

“Elle’s right. We all need to stay focused. Let’s get to the airplane hangar and get the hell out of here. We need to form a plan since we’re meeting up with more supernaturals who might be able to help us. I’ll try and think of a damn fairy I can trust too. A fairy may be our only hope if we don’t magically get a new, unexpected talent from this bond and sense where she is while we fly out to the cabin,” Cole said.

“Let’s go,” I added. “The longer we stay here and talk, the longer until we get closer to answers.”

All I could do on the plane ride was attempt to tune out everyone as they speculated about what was happening to Aria. Cole managed to secure intel from one of Caiden’s shifters, and they had come to the conclusion that Aria might have been stashed away at a high-society fairy school. The only problem was getting into the damn hidden realm and making sure none of this was a trap.

“We’re at the point that we can trust no one,” Zane ordered, and it seemed like Cole was about to say the same thing as the SUV pulled up the familiar driveway of the Banners’ log cabin estate.

I glanced around at the seeming normalcy in the realm of supernaturals. Guys were shirtless, throwing a football around on the enormous front lawns, and some chicks were out there laughing and playing along from what I could see squished between Logan and Zac in the middle seat.

Braden was riding in the front with Cole, and Val and Zane sat in the back row, staying mostly silent for the entire trip back from the private airport.

“What a bunch of fucking idiots,” Logan chuckled. “They do realize that vamps will kick a shifter’s ass every time, and in any sport, don’t they?”

“Just be glad they’re all getting along. Don’t forget Nakia and Bren’s death sparked the alliance between all shifters and vamps when that pack was raided and butchered.”

“Oh, my God,” I said, feeling the sweat bead up on my forehead. “Butchered? Were they—Did Nakia and Bren suffer?” I felt my stomach immediately flip, and I felt like I was going to barf.

“Elle,” Zac pulled me into his side, making my grieving, sick stomach worse, “they’re at peace. We've burned their bodies, and it’s like they never felt their deaths.”

That was it, I was going to barf.
