Zane shifted, and the wolf instantly finished off the asshole who wasn’t giving anything up on Enzo’s whereabouts.

“They’re programmed,” Cole said, pulling his phone off his ear. “Caiden just said that the vamps they took out, trying to get answers as to why that wolf pack that ran with Nakia and Bren was slaughtered, they were all created vamps.”

“Created vamps?” I asked, prompting everyone to turn and look at me with their grim expressions.

“Yes,” Zac said. “They aren’tturnedhumans. That asshole is actually replicating turned humans and making some mutant army of Enzo-ites.”

I ran my hand over my forehead. “We have to find my baby,” was all I could choke out before the sobbing began, and my world crumbled around me.

I was in Cole’s arms while I heard the shouting and arguing of the other vamps with Val. I could give two shits about what they all did at this point. I needed to know where my daughter was.

“What if,” I started sucking back the tears, “what if Enzo has her now?”

“Zane!” Cole shouted from where I pulled back and questioned him.

“Right here,” Zane said, returning to the room fully dressed and out of wolf form.

“You need to pull that alpha shit out and see if you can locate your flesh and blood.”

“I already told you, I can’t scent her anywhere on this damn globe.”

“Fuck me, man,” Cole snarled. “She’s not fucking dead.”

“What the hell are we even talking about?” I said.

“Cole’s acting as if I hadn’t already tried to scent out where our daughter is, even though it was the first damn thing I did when Val delivered the news she was gone.”

“If you can’tscenther,” I exhaled, “then we need to figure out why. Are you jacked up like Val is?”

“What the hell does that mean?” Logan questioned as he looked at Val.

“I’m shocked that I’m the only one who realized this, but Val is a seer, right?”

“Jesus Christ,” Zac said in a harsh growl. “What the fuck, Val. How the hell did you not see this shit even happening before it fucking happened?”

“That’s what Elle’s saying,” Val’s tears started to well up in her eyes. “I have no idea. The only thing I see in the future is us having dinner with Enzo.”

Unexpectedly, Cole coughed out a laugh. “Why the hell are you still breathing?” he said with a smile, but I could tell he was threatening her with the question alone.

“It’s not her fault,” I snapped. “Enzo wins if we all fall apart by being pissed off. Think about it, you just saw that we’re dealing with fabricated vampires, for God’s sakes. Don’t think that bastard wouldn’t take over the mind of a seer too.”

“Elle’s right,” Zane said. “He’s probably been watching all of us somehow.”

“Shut the fuck up,” Logan said. “There is no way in hell that asshole could take over seer abilities. He’s not that good.”

“And that’s where he’ll beat us, Logan,” I said. “We need to expect that he is that good, so we know how to take him down.”

“If he’s that good,” Cole pursed his lips, “and that’s what we’re calling this shit, then he already knows our next move.”

“Shit.” I sighed.

“Alright, let’s think,” Zane said. “Where’s Caiden at?” He looked at Cole.

“In hiding. After we left, they were attacked again by Enzo’s puppets. The pack took off, and they’re at our place in Oregon.”

“Well, they’re not anymore,” Braden said. “If you know that, I’m pretty damn sure Enzo knows it now too.”

“No,” Cole answered. “He never said it over the phone. He and I both used a variety of words for me to understand they’re at our place.”
