“No shit,” Cole growled back at me while Zane lowered his head to attack one of my guys. “That’s because you’re mated to his fucking ass.”
“It’s over, Zane.”
“Stop!” I screamed, watching Zane’s wolf leap out toward Braden’s threat.
Shit, I had just witnessed Zane attacking vamps and them combusting into flames with only the wolf’s bite. I wouldn’t lose Zane, and I wouldn’t lose my vamps. Fucking A, I was about to lose either Braden or Zane if they somehow didn’t listen to me, trying to conjure out the most intense alpha tone I could manage.

Thank God, everyone stopped mid-attack on my desperate command. That was a promising start to this new turn of events.
“Shit.” I let out a breath. “Listen,” I eyed everyone who was staring at me with pissed-off expressions, “Zane and I may havemated, but you all know we need him.”
“Fuck!” Braden roared, blood seeping from his fingers and the palm of his hand he held to his neck. “Goddamn wolf bite is burning like fucking fire in my neck right now.”
I ran over to him as Zane’s wolf dropped his head in shame. Cole got to Braden first, then me, Zac, and Logan.
“This should be healing on you,” Cole said in a low voice, examining the wound as best he could as Braden held his neck.
“If you pull my hand away, I’m done!” Braden barked at Cole, who was trying to get a better look at the wound.
“We have to get the hell out of here before more fuckers show up. They’ll smell the blood of an immortal, and then we’ll have every vamp in Miami-Dade County up our asses,” Zac said.
“He’s right,” Logan confirmed.
Cole turned and eyed me. “I have no idea if your tainted, wolf-bonded blood will help him, but we have to try. He’s not healing.”
“Mylifeblood,” I said through gritted teeth, “will help him heal just like I was born to do for you four.”
“That’s before you mated with a piece of shit wolf behind our backs, Elle,” Braden snapped.
“Everyone, get in the fucking SUV and grab the damn dog. We’ll figure his shit out later,” Cole ordered.
In a whirlwind of speed, I was snatched up by Logan, and the next thing I knew, we were in a black SUV with Cole driving like a bat out of hell, Zac sitting shotgun, and I was squished between Braden and Logan. I glanced back, and I saw that Zane was still in wolf form, lying in the back, cargo area of the SUV.
“Drink my blood,” I said, twisting to offer my neck to Braden.
“He has to wait until we get back to the house,” Logan said firmly. “We’re not risking the scent of blood in the air until we get home.”
“Will he be okay until then?” I asked, seeing Braden sweating and bleeding profusely.
“He’s going to have to be,” Cole said, glancing at me through the rearview mirror. “We can’t take any more risks than we already have.”
“If my blood doesn’t heal him like you said?” I whispered, concerned.
“Then Braden’s fucked, and any plans we may have had for beating all the shit that lies ahead of us are over,” Cole answered.
“Fucking dog,” Zac said. “The goddamn wolf knew exactly what he was doing.”
“What’s that, Zac?” I asked. “We tried to get our bond back. We went with our emotions.”
“Zane should have known better,” Zac answered. “The only reason the last bond worked was that you were in a different state, and we were working with a Shaman. This shit? Fuck.” Zac sighed, and my eyes met his bronze ones, “It’s fine that you both fucked and all that shit, but for him to claim your ass by a mating alpha bite? Fuck me, man.”
“Maybe he didn’t know.”
“Give me a damn break,” Logan said. “Fucker knew exactly what was going down. He was altering you to his alpha needs. If he were stronger than that, he would’ve never fucking mated with you.”
“Let’s just focus on saving Braden,” I said, knowing these vamps were going to finish off the last of the wolves who were bonded with us before Aria somehow pulled it all away from us.
