“Wants his kind back? By creating kids from me? You make no fucking sense.”
“The immortals. All of them who chose to live for the good of mankind instead of turning humans into soldiers.”
“Fucking Satan? As in the fallen angel, Lucifer?” I spat out. “How are my immortals his kind?”
The thing’s eyes grew distant, and I squeezed harder with my mental power. The thing wailed, and its eyes were red like the flames of hell.
“Your ancestor made a grave mistake by meeting with Lucifer. Morgana thought she was so brilliant in discovering the immortals. She helped to create them since they could not be created by the angelic hands of our beautiful master. She was deceived and knew it. Then, to fix her mistake, she created the Life Bloods. She was ashamed of all of it and knew that one day Lucifer would work to claim his own again. He would unite the two creatures she made withhispowers surging in her. This offspring would help him destroy all mankind and his creation would take over.”
“Well, that’s not going to happen. You sort of fucked up your master’s plans by screwing over my vampires and me.”
“It’s why the child you created with the shifter is dead.”
My boiling blood wanted to kill this thing right now, but we were getting answers that I don’t even think anyone else knew.
“Tell your master—if he doesn’t kill you for serving to help create what me, the shifters, and vampires are now—that his cause is lost. He can sit in hell until his real battle takes place. There’s no total domination bullshit happening. Nice try, but I think someone else has your master on their hit list, and it’s not us.” I smiled, “Your stupid bullshit ass is at my mercy now, and I wonder? Do I make you suffer or just send you back to your master to make that evil angel do what the fuck it wants with you? Either way, you’re never going to be a threat to us again.”
“What about your dear daddy?” the demon mocked. “I was so close to working with Enzo until he lost his mind just like you’re losing your mind right now.”
“Fuck that and fuck you. Enzo may be off the rails, but we’ll handle that asshole…” I stopped.
I looked around to my guys and saw curious expressions on their faces. I looked back at the demon drooling out its blood. “Enzo is ours to take down. That bastard will burn by your side in hell. Your master loses. We plan on protecting the humans, not turning them into vampire monsters.”
“And the ones that already serve my master?”
“Oh, Enzo?” I mocked, “Like I said, we’re going after all the demonic bullshit. It’s game over for all of you. Your master needs to pick his battles wisely, and even my little human mind knows what’s coming after him.”
The demon grew angry, then softened its frightening expression. “Work with him and he’ll give you half of what he is prized after the battle of…”
“Shut the hell up,” I said with disgust. “I’m not making a deal with the goddamn devil; in fact, next to you, we have to clean up all his fucking messes.” I looked back at Bren who stood as my right-hand man right now, “How bad is it? How many evil shits are out there in the supernatural world?”
“Not as many as this thing wants. We can take them on and end them in less than a year, then they’ll have to rebuild.”
“We need to take Enzo out. Once you send this thing back to hell where it belongs, good old Lucy is going to make this thing suffer for giving up his plans,” Zac said. “What a fucking joke.” He walked up to the demon. “When our girl sends your fucked up ass back to the devil, let the bastard himself know that we might be his spawns of creation to seek total dominance, but our dear friend fate saw more than we knew and merged us with Morgana’s strongest Life Blood offspring. Then we fucking merged with some badass wolves. We’ll spend our time kicking Enzo’s ass and ending plan B for the psychopath angel too. No one fucks with the humans.”
“Your child,” the demon looked at Zane and smiled, “It burns with the others who were created against the better cause in hell. Let that sink in.”
“Fuck you!” I spat out. “We’re done. We at least know where to go from here.”
I closed my eyes and heard the wails of the creature as I imagined hellfire coming from its insides and consuming it into a ball of fire, shooting it straight to its master. When I reopened my eyes, I saw a black hole where the son of a bitch was sent back to hell. As I watched the hole to hell slowly close, I honed in on the pain this thing was experiencing.
Dumb move. I crippled over in pain, feeling every last bone in my body burning. I pulled myself out of the feeling, which was pretty much like trying to swim up from the ocean floor with fucking hundred-pound weights around my ankles.
I sucked in a loud breath then my eyes widened when I saw a black and red mark on my leg. It was a creepy handprint of something that was trying to keep my ass mentally locked in that place.
My God! My baby.
“We have to find a way to go back.”
“Baby,” Zane took my shoulders in his. “We never went there. If that thing is right and our daughter is there, she’s either being tortured or transformed into our own enemy. Don’t fucking start wishing on shit right now. You’re too juiced up for that.”
I slapped Zane across his saddened, yet controlled face, “I will get her back!”
“Why don’t you channel your energy on healing up Logan and we’ll discuss this shit later,” Zane countered.
“Shit! Logan. Goddamnit!” I ran over to my lifeless vampire, knowing he could’ve been in hell with our daughter and that demon.
I placed each hand over his face and kissed his closed eyelids. “Come back to us, Logan. Fight your way back, we can’t do it without you.”
