“Why are you still standing here?” Logan asked her. “You’re lucky we let you back into the house after what your dad pulled. Don’t make us regret the decision.”

“Go make Elle a tuna sandwich,” Zane ordered her. “Does that sound okay?” he looked at me.

As if he projected me to love the one sandwich I despised by suggesting it alone, I nodded. My stomach growled, and Jen couldn’t make it fast enough. “What the hell?”

“You’re going to probably be saying that a lot,” Bren said. “Being that you’re carrying an alpha’s baby, the alpha is more attuned to you than you probably are to yourself. Welcome to your pregnancy cravings.”

“You knew that?” I asked Zane.

He nodded. “I could sense it, yes. I hope this shit doesn’t freak you out more than your being pregnant.”

“I think I need to get past the point of freaking out. It would be nice to know all the shit that’s going to go down between me and you now so I can prepare for it, but if we’re not alive, it really won’t matter. How much longer on Shane?” I looked at the shaman with his eyes still white.

“Hopefully, anytime.”

“Fucking Lucas and his clan will be here by the time the shaman pulls it together,” Zac said. “Damn, what’s he doing, scanning the entire U.S. for this bitch?”

“Let him concentrate. We might want us to shut up too. He’s hearing everyone talk on top of focusing on the spiritual levels,” Nakia said.

The room grew silent, and all that was heard was Jen crashing a dish into the sink, and her stomping back to me with the tuna fish sandwich before she handed it to me with a fake bitch smile.

I ignored her, picked up half the sandwich, and within seconds had the hiccups from devouring it so quickly. God dang, this was so damn crazy it was beyond stupid. Fucking Shane needed to hurry the hell up. Not only was he searching out a witch who was going to put the hit on Zane and somehow kill my baby, but now we had to be sure Enzo wasn’t on our asses now too.

We’d be lucky if we could take her down with all her ancient bullshit power, much less deal with her and Enzo fighting all of us. We were merged, but whatever powerful bond Cole, Zane, and I had created in that cabin was oddly dividing us instead of uniting us.

We had to be a strong united force, ready for anything and everything. Right now we were a bickering bunch of fucking hens, and I was trying to get a hold of the fact that I was having a child growingrapidlyin my womb?Rapidly? What the fuck, how fast was this child going to grow? Nine weeks instead of nine months to my due date? How the hell did this even happen—oh wait. I was horny as fuck and felt the bond calling me to have my two alphas fuck me at once.

Glad I followed my instincts on that one. Thinking about comparing my baby growing as fast in my tummy as a puppy would, I felt my legs buckle when I imagined I could possibly be carrying more than one baby. Shit, I was pregnant with a wolf shifter. Dogs had litters, and apparently, from recent talks with my vamps, I could probably do the same thing.

Cole caught me before I could fall, and that’s when Shane’s eyes reopened. “The witch is in the vicinity. It’s best to prepare for a sudden attack.”

The room was suddenly filled with wolves that were once human, and the large black one with red flecks in his eyes was protectively in front of me, sniffing the air around the room.

“I’m not ready for this.” I looked at Braden.

Braden, as well as the rest of my vampires, were vamped out. Black eyes and fangs. “Get ready because we’re about to end that bitch’s life. Pull it together, Elle, we might need you to tap into your ancestor if Edgar doesn’t get his dumbass here in time.”

Holy hell. Fine, who needed to take a damn breather anyway. Time to kill a fucking witch and have a baby next month. Let’s do it.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Zane’s wolf snarled and leapt through the air, spinning around at what caught the attention of everyone in the room. I froze, trying to free my mind of any obstacles of fear. Then, the tension of the room was killed as fast as it hit when I heard a familiar voice speak out.

“Everyone, calm the hell down,” Lucas said. “Shit,” he looked at me as he walked through the center of the room with two men trailing him. “What the fuck have you all done?”

“Lucas!” Cole spoke out. “Goddamn, you couldn’t have gotten here at a better time. The witch is here, and we’re hardly—”

Lucas held his hands up and glanced to the buzzed head dude at his left, “You think?” he snapped in annoyance. “What the hell, man? I thought your alpha senses would’ve at least controlled half the shit that went down since we recommended Elle feed on the wolf shifters.”

“What are you talking about? We have a goddamn witch up our ass right now. We don’t have time for this lecture, asshole,” Braden boomed.

“The witch that your piece of shit shaman picked up on was Edgar, dip shit.” He nudged the buzzed head, middle eastern dude to his left. “Edgar was forced to tap into his fucking dark magic because of the shit show going down since you all thought it was a great idea to merge with wolves. You could’ve killed us.”

“What the hell are you trying to say to us?” I growled.

“Listen up, littlealpha queen,” his angry eyes fell on me. “You’re juiced up on more power than you can control.” He glanced at my stomach, “To top that off, you have a fucking wolf, vampire, Life Blood, who the fuck knows what elsehybridgrowing inside you.” He looked over at Cole, “How the hell did you all manage to go zero to ninety all on a fucking whim? Have any of you any goddamn self-control?”

“Take it easy, fucker! You’re here to help, not insult Elle and our instincts of what was best in protecting her,” Logan snapped.
