Logan grinned differently now. The knowing grin. The damn vampire was feeling my emotions.
“Just go, and stay safe,” I said.
“We’ve got this,” Zac smiled at me.
They disappeared with their super-vamp speed out the front door, and I took off to the fridge. God only knew what they were all talking about because I had plenty of time to make a massive sandwich and take it up to my room to eat before Braden made it back into the house.
A goddamn warlock. You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.
I shouldn’t even have been shocked anymore at this point. This was all just part of the shit show I had been living in since I met these four vampires. Maybe tomorrow I would find out I had a long-lost uncle who was an ogre, or maybe a werewolf. Or maybe me and Logan having sex magically spawned a little vampire-Life Blood-witch hybrid. I felt myself growing nauseated at the thought.
Hell no!
“We didn’t use protection. What if he could have gotten me pregnant?” I said out loud, feeling my eyes want to pop out of my head in fear and helplessness.
A knock at the door made me instantly regret speaking the words out loud while vampires with super hearing were close by.
