“Well, you can kiss your hope of them knocking me up goodbye,” I said. “There’s no fucking way they will let you get what you want.”

“They will give me what I want, all of you will,” she said as she poured oil into the bowl and continued mixing.

“What are you going to do to us? Why are you forcing this now?” I felt myself sink into defense mode. She was obviously planning to do something to me that I was guaranteed not to like. I had to find a way out of this.

“Truth be told, I was more than a bit baffled that you were able to resist my sister’s influence as much as you did, and then I realized why you were able not to succumb entirely. The magical DNA I mentioned seems to have somewhat of a defense mechanism.”

“What the fuck are you talking about, lady?”

“Anyone else would’ve been entirely under my sister’s spell, no questions asked. Why do you think those ridiculous vampires from New Orleans went along with what we wanted? They had no control over that.” She picked up a glass vial filled with what looked to be blood and poured it into the bowl before whispering an incantation. A flash ignited in the bowl, and a puff of smoke rose up into the air as she looked at the contents of the dish with satisfaction. “My magic can subdue the strongest of creatures, but you and your men were able to resist me, and that’s when I realized that I was going to have to tamper down some of that magic you have inside if I want this to work. I can’t have you fighting me, now can I?”

“You don’t have to do this,” I said, trying to bargain my way off of this table and far away from the spell she was sure to cast on me.

“Oh, but I do.” She turned and looked at one of the cloaked men. She nodded her head, and he walked to a door and opened it, leading my four beautiful vampires in one at a time.
