“I wish. Vacation.” He smiled widely, “Glad I took my friends up on their offer to come with them here. I wouldn’t have run into your sexy ass if I didn’t.”
He grabbed my ass, and I slapped his hand away and eyed him furiously. “Dude, keep your fucking hands to yourself!” I demanded, trying to warn him with my tone.
He grabbed my waist as I turned to leave and pulled me back into him. I went to knee him in the balls, but the alcohol in my system was creeping up on me and slowing me down. He hopped back and dodged my knee.
SHIT!
“I told you to get your fucking hands off me,” I shouted over the music.
“Easy,” he said grabbing me and pulling me up to his chest. “I just want to dance. You don’t need to get all bitchy.”
I watched his smile die when he glanced up and behind me. “You need something?” he asked with a glare.
Please, God, let this be Cole.
“Yeah. My girl. Right now,” Cole’s voice had dangerous an edge to it that turned me on instantly. “Get your fucking hands off her and apologize.”
Dude’s grips loosened, and I managed to turn and see Cole’s lethal expression. Cole tightened his lips and narrowed his eyes at Brian who had released me and stopped dancing.
Brian looked at me after backing away. “Sorry about that,” he humbly said.
Cole stepped up to the guy and looked him directly in the eyes. “You’re going to go home right now and go straight to sleep. You will never intimidate another woman again. Do you understand?” Cole said as his eyes flashed.
“I understand,” the guy said with a dazed look on his face before he turned around and headed straight for the exit.
Cole spun around to examine me. “Are you okay?”
“Did you just use one of your tricks on him to get him to do that?” I asked, in awe of the rapid change of events.
“I did. It’s a fucking shame that some people need to be forced into not behaving like absolute garbage,” he snarled. “Do you want to stay and dance some more?”
“After that, I think I’ll pass,” I said, hearing my words slur a bit. “I just want to go home.”
“Maybe that’s a good idea,” he agreed.
After Cole closed my tab, we made our way back to the beach house. I wanted to throw myself into his arms and thank him for rescuing me, but I knew it would be met with resistance, and I couldn’t take the rejection tonight. The best thing I could do was go home, take a hot shower, and try to forget that this night ever happened.
