The black-haired bitch clenched my arm and jerked me out of the car in one fluid motion.
“How ironic, we’re at an old cemetery,” I said in disgust as I glanced around. “What next? Heading into a crypt?”
“Shut your fucking mouth,” one of the red-haired, black-eyed guys snapped before he looked at me for a second and smiled menacingly. “Maybe we should taste her blood for ourselves,” he stalked toward me. He was tall, but not as tall or as muscular as the Banners. God, I would’ve given anything for them to be here. I would take the ass-chewing just to feel safe with them all again.
“Fuck yeah,” the other redhead male said. In a blur of motion, I was trapped between the two men. The one that was the passenger stood behind me, his hands cupping each of my breasts while his lips were at my neck. My whole body went rigid. The other came at me from the front, his eyes darker than sin.
He let out a breath while his eyes studied his twin vamp who was licking my neck. “I want this bitch and her blood, but she reeks of them,” he growled in frustration.
“You’re goddamn right she does,” Zac’s voice preluded the strong hand that clamped down on the red head’s shoulder in front of me.
Like a strong wind picking up, the freak in front of me was gone, and before I could follow where he’d gone—or was taken—I had a hand on my chin and neck. “Show yourselves, and I won’t kill your little pet,” the guy said as he clenched my throat.
“Your boyfriends have no idea what’s going to happen when the rest show up,” the dark-haired bitch said as her eyes roamed the graveyard.
Everything was eerily silent until I felt a sudden jerk from behind me. I was spun around, still locked into this sick and twisted vampire’s grip. “Quit fucking around, Banner!”
Braden stepped out like a hitman only larger and with a much more dangerous expression.
“You like to play little games?” he said in a low, menacing voice. He cocked his head to the side, brilliant sapphire eyes focused on the vamp who was squeezing me more tightly than ever. His expression was lethal, and my heart leapt at the sight of him. He was terrifying.
“Get your fucking hands off of her, and I won’t make your death as agonizing as I want to.” Braden warned.
“She’s at our mercy,” one of the females said from behind us. Braden smiled a devious smile as I heard loud shriek behind me, making it obvious one of the others had finished her.
“Where are the rest of the collectors?” I heard Logan ask.
I saw the black-haired bitch dart off in a blur out of the corner of my eye, and then suddenly it looked like she ran into a brick wall. I couldn’t see what had happened, but I heard her shriek loudly, and then I heard a snap.
“You realize we’ve been fucking up collectors like you since before a vampire ever decided to save you from your no-doubt meaningless human life, right? You aren’t exactly making a good decision, being on Enzo’s side and all.” Cole’s voice.
All my guys were here, and my heart was hammering against my chest as I was squeezed so tightly I wondered if my ribs were about to break.
Braden stepped forward, his eyes threatening and deadly. “Now, you’re just pissing me off,” he said, walking toward me held by this asshole vamp that was going to rip my head off at any second.
In a flash, the pressure on my chest was relieved, and I fell to the ground.
I scrambled on the ground, turning to see Braden’s hand wrapped tightly around the vampire’s neck, holding him off the ground, the redhead’s toes barely touching the dirt. “Where are the rest of the collectors? Where’s your fucking nest?” he boomed in a voice that sent shivers up my spine.
The vampire spat in Braden’s face, “You think I’d tell you?”
Braden smiled, “No. That’s why I’m not going to feel bad ripping you apart piece by piece and relishing in your painful squeals while I do it.” Braden looked over at where I remained limp, numb, and scared shitless on the ground. “Get her out of here,” he said before he looked back at the vampire he was playing with like a predator would do to its prey before finally killing it.
I was swept up in one fluid motion, wrapped in the electricity I felt when my vampires touched or came around me. We made it to a tall statue of a cherub before I was set down.
“You’re safe here,” Cole said, his green eyes dark and mysterious. “Don’t fucking move until one of us gets back to you. More collectors are here.”
My eyes widened when Cole sped off in super vamp speed. I heard trees cracking, and cries of pain fill the area just outside of the cemetery as I sat there in shock.
I peered around the statue I was hiding behind and got a glimpse of horror as I watched Braden rip the limbs of my assailant from his body slowly. I cringed as I watched the vampire’s eyes and face reacting to the torture that it felt as Braden fulfilled the promise he made. Somehow, he wasn’t worried about the mob of collectors his cousins seemed to be battling in a blur from all around him.
The vampire finally screamed, “The nest is—”
“And now the bitch wants to talk,” Braden seethed, as he held one of the vamp’s arms in his massive hand, “Go on, where are the rest of your asshole friends?”
“Let me live,” the vampire cried.
“After what you did to our girl? Fuck you,” Braden answered.
