My mind drifted back to the unexpected moment I had with Zac. I still wasn’t over that. My mind went in two different directions about it all; one, I never thought I hadthatin me; and two, damn! I’d never been so turned on before in my life.

It was fascinating and peculiar, but I felt more drawn to Zac after our moment. I sensed a connection to the point that if I saw him again, I knew I would probably jump him right then and there. No shame, none at all. I went with these emotions. I blocked the human side of me from fighting everything and just went with the flow. Honestly, I felt more alive than ever before.

I held onto the side of the pool and closed my eyes. In this moment of acceptance, I saw Zac’s beautiful eyes framed by his dark lashes. The sincerity, devotion, and love in them. My God, he was hot, and everything he said while my body was reacting to his touch was insanely awesome. The way he watched me while I came made me hot all over again. Having had sex with only David, I didn’t realize a guy wouldn’t be just about himself and his own pleasure. Zac changed my outlook on that. Even though he made it obvious it was turning him on, Zac was all about me getting the pleasure—not just him.

“Doing okay out here?” I opened my eyes at Logan’s question.

I glanced over and saw him perched on the other side of the pool. His tanned, muscular legs moved through the water as he leaned back on his hands. I smiled taking in the image of the vampire who sat across the pool from me. Logan’s short, black hair glistened in the sun, his was shirt off, giving me full access to his brawny chest in all of its perfection.

“Are all you guys built like gods?” I asked with a smile.

He smirked and kept his gaze off to the distance beyond the pool, “Just the ones who work hard to stay strong when they have a psychotic vampire hunting them.”

“I mean, do you have to work out or anything to look like that?”

“No,” he simply stated. “Our good looks come naturally.” He pinched his lips together in humor.

“Ah,” I shot an eyebrow up at him. “So that must mean I’m normal for getting off on Zac for no reason at all earlier?” I felt my brain trying to rationalize what I did instead of just going with it.

“You feel bad about it?”

“I felt fine a second ago. Now, it seems like my human mind is trying to rationalize everything again. I guess I don’t know how to feel about it.”

“I’ll make it easy on you. Don’t let your brain destroy that whole encounter for you. Vampires are highly sexual creatures, yes, though it takes a little bit more than whispers and kisses to get us off,” he said with a wink. “It’s pretty damn hot Zac got to you that easily if you ask me.”

“I’m definitely trying to get out of my head about it all.” I tightened my lips. “It feels incredible just to let it all go and start accepting it. Then my little brain steps in, and what do you know? I’m back to square one.”

“Screw that,” Logan looked out toward the horizon again. “If you’re starting to accept this stuff so quickly, don’t fight it. Trust me, your blood calls to us. There is a reason Zac got you off like he did without even touching the right places,” he nodded at me with a grin, “if you know what I’m referring to?”

“I know, but why do you think it happened like that?” I asked as I waded in the water.

His lips twisted, “I think your blood and our pull to you is just beginning. Once Zac came to terms with it today, it helped intensify the bond. It was strange. While you were out there with him, I wasn’t jealous or even getting off watching it happen. Instead I was glad it was happening…like it was deepening the bond between us all.”

“So weird.” I sighed, “How are we really supposed to work this out?”

“Work what out? The relationship with the four vampires and their one special human?” He smiled, “It’s actually a supernatural thing. I think if you can accept that, you’ll accept loving us back in different ways.” He reached into the water and made the mistake of running it over his chest. Now he looked like an oiled up, dewy-chested supermodel.

“Are you trying to get me all worked up again?” I arched an eyebrow at his innocent and confused look. “Trying to see if I’ll get all crazy from this distance. Seeing how far this bond really goes?”

“What the hell are you talking about?” He asked with a confused look and a laugh.

“Splashing water over your shredded abs, smart guy!”

Logan narrowed his eyes at me, “Maybe youdoneed to get laid after Zac got you all worked up today.”

“Yeah, true.” I cleared my throat, dunked my head, and swam over to Logan. “How’s Braden?”

“Kind of why I wanted to see how you were doing.” His face grew serious, “We think he might need more blood. It’s working, but he’s out of his damn mind with bloodlust for you. It’s part of what we were worried about. I’m glad we didn’t find a way to let him feed off you.”

“Have you guys interrogated the vampire that did this to him?”

“Not putting that asshole back together again until Braden is up and running. Braden gets the privilege of interrogating that thing once he’s better.”

“You can just put him back together? Why isn’t he dead? How do you even kill one of you guys? Stake in the heart? What?”

“No, a stake in the heart won't kill us, and neither will holy water or sunlight, as you can see,” he said as he waved his hand over his body. “A stake in the heart will slow us down, though. Rip our head off, but if our body is close enough to pull back together, we will recover. We heal fast. Now, if you burn us while we’re torn apart, that’s a different story. We aren’t coming back from that.”

“Whoa.”
