“Elle, I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what, Zac?” I said with more anger in my voice than I thought I had, “For this weird bond, or for me living here? Maybe you’re sorry that you perfect super vamps came across a Life Blood in the first place.”
“It’s not that, it’s—”
“It’s bullshit is whatitis, Zac. Maybe if you shoved your selfish shit to the side and looked at it all through my eyes, you’d get the fact that you’re not alone in all of this. All I know is that my shitty human life turned into some freak horror show. Fourvampirescame out of nowhere at school, weird shit starts happening—I can’t explain it, so I try and brush it all off—all while dealing with a drunk ass mom, a best friend who ditches me overnight, and an idiotic boyfriend. Then, out of nowhere, mom gets an all-inclusive paid rehab gift at one of the best centers in the nation, and the next thing I know, I’m up here learning that all four of you are bonded and devoted to me. Not just that, but I’m living with fucking vampires!” My voice rose, “Do you know how fucked in the head I should be right now?” I felt the disgust that was apparent on my face while looking into his jewel-like eyes, “But I’m not. I’m sitting here listening to your horny-ass vampires talk about the way you all feed—way to keep that shit rated PG on me, by the way…and to top it all off? One day I’m going to be going at this shit like rabbits with four different guys. Imagine how all of this is affecting my sanity right now. I can’t even manage a relationship withoneguy, now—as fate may have it for my fucked up life—I’m going to have to juggle four of you.” I turned away from his saddened eyes, “That’s the shitI’vebeen dealing with while your sensitive pride is being challenged, so fuck you and fuck your apology.”
I heard him let out a breath, and I hoped I had made him feel like shit.
“I’m sorry for the way I’ve been treating you,” he softly said. “It was uncalled for, and you’re right, if anyone should hate the world right now for what fate has thrown at all of us, it should be you.”
“I’m glad you can see that.”
“You’re handling it all so well, though.”
“Yeah, apparently that would be my body and soul handling it all well. Once I let my mind start to try and find reason with this madness, that’s when I’m on the verge of throwing myself off the balcony of your lodge.”
He gently took my arm. I had my guard down, so the jolt of energy coming from him surged into my skin and shot directly into my heart. My mind instantly became fuzzy, and I felt a strong desire to be held in his arms. I turned to him, emotions taking over, and a tear slipped out of my eye, betraying me to the one vamp I needed to act strong in front of.
He pressed his lips together, his bronze irises lit up as if the sun’s rays were reflecting off them. “It won’t happen again.” His lips twisted, “You’re so beautiful.”
“That’s the blood talking,” I said mechanically.
He shook his head, eyes never leaving mine as he leaned me against one of the tall pine trees. His tall and muscular build standing imposingly and very close to me. “It’s not,” he said in a low voice. The back of his fingers touched my chin, and his eyes followed them as he traced along my jaw, underneath my chin, and down the center of my chest. Heat, fire, and electricity were all surging through my entire body.
“What,” I said breathlessly, his eyes returning to mine, “What are you doing to me?”
His lips lifted in one corner, “I think that’s my question for you, Ellie.” His voice was so smooth that I was finding it so hard to resist him.
“Zac,” I said in a whisper, “I can’t.” I closed my eyes, trying to pull it together.
That’s when I felt his cheek pressed against mine, “Somehow we’re all going to get through this.” His lips were at my ear as his body pressed against mine. “Somehow I’ll learn to share you with them.” His cool breath sent shivers down my spine, then my body started in on a course of its own in reaction to whatever Zac was drawing out of it. “One day you’ll accept me. I wish that day were today.”
“I do, Zac,” I said, my mind running free, not thinking at all. I wrapped my hands around his waist and pressed him tightly against me, trying to curb the intense desire of wanting him here and now.
“Elle,” he said breathlessly. Both his hands slid up the sides of my neck and cradled my head. He tilted my head to look up at him while gently using his thumbs to trace along my cheekbones. “God, I want to kiss you so bad. I want to kiss you and…” he closed his eyes. He looked like he was in pain.
“I want it too.” I said.
His eyes were swirling seductively, and his lips were on my neck. I swallowed against the softness of his touch. I felt his tongue taste my neck before his lips pressed gently against it again. “You’re not ready—I’m not ready. Right now, there are so many things I want to do to bring you pleasure, bliss, but we’re not there yet.” He pulled his lips from my neck, “I can sense what your blood will do to all four of us.” He rested his forehead against mine, my body pretty much numb as my head remained cradled in his sturdy hands, “My God, Ellie baby, this is going to be a fucking amazing bond.”
My body wanted him to prove his words right here in front of God and anyone else who was watching. I didn’t care what anyone thought. I wanted to feel the pleasure I was sensing Zac wanted to give me. I’d had sex before…orgasm and all the so-called pleasure that went with the act, but this? Just the way his voice became raspy, feeling his hard body pressed firmly against mine, the lingering sensation of fire beneath my skin where his tongue and lips tasted me—my body was ready to explode. He wasn’t touching the area that throbbed and ached for him, yet still, if he did one more seductive thing out here, I knew I was going to lose it instantly.
He pulled back and licked his lips. Things grew hotter, and I was at a boiling point. “Fuck,” he said in a husky voice, “you’re getting off on me just doing this, aren’t you?” His face seemed shocked, but the guy just hit a new level of desire himself. I saw it in his eyes. “Let it go, baby.”
“Oh my God,” I let out a breath, “Zac, please, I need more.”
His hand slid over my cotton shirt, rubbing against my sensitive, hard nipple. “Goddamn,” he said with a smile, “That’s it, baby, you’re safe. Let yourself go. Give into the emotions. I want to fucking see this.”
My mind was shadowed with bliss, and I was almost in pain with the back build of pleasure that was holding off before the eruption took place. I felt protected, comforted, and most of all, free to do the most intimate thing out here with and in front of him.
He pressed hard into me, and I could feel the length of what my body wanted inside it right now. I softly moaned, feeling how hard he was and wanting to rip his jeans off right then and there.
His hands reached for mine, and he laced our fingers together, pulling my arms up and pinning them gently to the tree above my head. “I can tell you’re close, I want you to come here and now.” His lips were at my ear again, energy throbbing and practically forcing itself out of every pore in my body.
I wanted the release, I wanted to give him what he wanted, but something was holding it all back.
I licked my dry lips, and then he pressed his against mine. I instantly parted my lips, letting him aggressively, yet passionately, kiss me. His tongue probed into my mouth, finding mine. With force, our tongues collided and danced with energy more potent than anything I’d ever experienced. His fingers clasped tighter around mine as he moaned against my mouth. He tasted like honey. I couldn’t make this kiss strong enough. I moaned in pleasure, feeling my body losing control. I felt him tremble when my pelvis bucked unexpectedly against his.
