He cupped his hand over his left ear and leaned closer to her. “I have very acute hearing, even as a human it’s pretty awesome compared to yours. I heard you come in. I heard your breath hitch when I took Grady’s cock in my hand. Hell, at one point I thought I could hear your heart beating, fast, when he came.”

Sienna felt her cheeks heat. “So why didn’t you stop? Shut the door, tell me to fuck off?” She folded her arms over her chest and glared up at him.

“Because I didn’t mind, and Grady wouldn’t care. He just wanted to release some tension.”

“And you were the man for the job.”

“Sienna.” He reached for her but she stepped away. “Please,” he said. “I can explain.”

“I’m not stupid. You’re a couple, hell, you even finish each other’s sentences.”

Tarl ran his hand through his hair and narrowed his eyes. “Okay, we are a couple, a committed couple, but that doesn’t mean I cheated on him with you, and it doesn’t mean I—we—don’t have room for you in our lives.” He paused. “You’re not just beautiful and intelligent and kind, you’ve done something for us direwolves that is so selfless. Of course we’re drawn to you, ofcourse we want you.”

He reached for her again and this time she let his hands rest on her shoulders.

“Sienna, you are part of the pack now, part of us. There is no changing that.”

“Part of the pack?”

“Yes.” He leaned closer and pressed his forehead on hers.

The scent of shower gel filled her nose and his breath was warm on her lips. She felt surrounded by his strength and conviction and for a moment the serious situation she was in almost faded away. She wasn’t alone.

“I still want you,” he said. “If we didn’t have to leave soon, I’d be stripping you naked and making us both come until we’re exhausted.”

“Tarl,” she managed. “But…?”

“And Grady would watch, hell, no, he’d join in. He wouldn’t be able to resist you.”

She stared into his eyes. She’d never had a threesome but that certainly sounded what Tarl was suggesting could happen.

“When we’re at Kochi,” he murmured then brushed his lips over hers. “You’ll see how it can be between the three of us.”

“The three of us?” In the name of the Lord, when she’d hooked up with Tarl the night before, she thought it would be for a night of fun with a sexy twenty-something, she never could have predicted he’d be talking about their life together.

Theirlife with Grady! In Canada. Living with a pack of direwolves.

She let out a sigh. “This is all so much to get my head around.”

“I know.” He slipped his arms from her shoulders and around her body, pulling her close. “It is for us too. One minute we were in Montana, then New York, and now the secret of our existence is out. And now … now we’ve met you, now we aremore than two.”

Sienna slid her arms around him and held him tight, the way he was holding her. There was something about him that made her feel like she could be completely herself, show her fears and hopes.

“Your family will miss you. Your friends,” he murmured. “They’ll be shocked.”

“I don’t have much family, a few distant aunts and uncles, that’s it. I was adopted, my adoptive parents died a few years ago, both of cancer.”

“I’m sorry.” He stroked her hair. “That’s rough.”

She swallowed and closed her eyes. “Yes, it was, they were my parents, I never even thought of the ones who gave me up.”

He was quiet for a moment. “Friends?”

“My friends are at the zoo, I am—was—a bit of an all-work-and-no-play kind of girl. And now when they find out I released a dangerous predator into the city, they’ll hate me.”

At that moment Grady let out a particularly loud snore.

Sienna looked his way and giggled. “Dangerous predator?”
