I pick up my margarita and down the rest in one gulp. The three of them all look at me with wide eyes.
“Don’t judge,” I say. “It’s going to be a hard night.”
Bauer digs out his wallet and hands Remi a hundred dollar bill. “Here,” he says. “This should cover what we’ve had and anything else you two ladies want to order.”
“This is way too much,” Remi says.
Bauer touches her shoulder, his voice husky, “I’ll collect from you later, Your Iciness.” Then he winks at her and she blushes again.
Oh yeah, this was definitely going to be interesting. Not to mention that girl code now dictates that I stop finding him attractive.
Which, as I think about it, makes me feel both happy and relieved.
Problem solved.
