I push open his bedroom door and the first thing I see is a woman’s bare back and ass lying beside him. Oops.
I step back, the old floorboard creaking, and he stirs, blinking a few times before properly opening his eyes.
“Calvin, you okay?” he whispers, climbing from the bed slowly.
“Fine, sorry, I didn’t know you had company.”
He glances back at the bed for a moment, then shakes his head.
“It’s fine,” he whispers. “Let’s chat out there, though.”
He follows me to the old, grungy couch. We can afford a new one, but this thing is super comfy.
“So how did it go?” he asks, yawning and checking his watch. “It’s one a.m., so I guess it went well.”
“It was…eye-opening,” I say as my cheeks grow warm.
“So you and Ash…?” He pumps his eyebrows as his way of finishing that sentence, and I chuckle.
“We did. And fuck, I never knew it could be like that.”
“Like what?”
“I’m not giving you details.”
He slaps a hand on my thigh.
“I don’t want details, you perv. I just mean, what about it was so different from what you have felt before? I can’t say my orgasmic end is any different when I’m with a guy or a girl. But from what you’re saying, it was for you.”
“Really?” I suddenly question my memories of previous interactions with women. Has it just been that long that I don’t remember properly?
He shrugs.
“What can I say, my dick is an equal opportunist organ. It’s okay if it was different for you.”
“It was different. It was…better,” I say as my stomach swirls as the memories of Ash and I together surface.
“Were you safe?”
“Dude.”
“What? It doesn’t matter if it’s a guy or a girl, you have to be safe. Oh, and you’ll want to start on PrEP. I’ll make you an appointment with my doctor this week before we go away.”
“We didn’t…” Fuck, how do I say this?
“Have anal sex?”
My face is on fire, but Tony is totally unfazed by any of this.
He laughs. “You might want to get used to hearing those words if you’re going to be doing it.”
“We didn’t do that. We did…stuff. I’m going to go slow. I know nothing about being with a guy. Maybe I should watch porn or something.”
“Don’t. It’s porn, not real life. Just keep doing what you and Ash are doing, explore what you like with him, and be honest when you find something you don’t like. Do you know if he’s a top or a bottom, or vers?”
“I don’t know. I should ask that, right?”
“Maybe. It can be helpful to know if you both don’t like giving or…receiving,” he says, making an action with his hands, pointing one finger through a circle he’s made with the other hand. I can’t help but laugh.
