“If you’re that worried about your health, then sell the house you own. That has equity in it and is enough to cover your loan. You can also sell that pretty sports car you drive around in. And then there’s your stock and bonds. Don’t guilt trip my woman into thinking you’ve money issues when you can free yourself from them.”

I stared at Raymond. “Get the fuck off my land, you spineless, greedy, yellow-bellied prick. If you come back, I’ll have you arrested for trespassing. I never, ever want to see you again.”

“You don’t mean that. Jesus, Nanci, look at this place,” Raymond snapped.

“Raymond. Leave. Now.” I turned and walked away.

Raymond reached out and grabbed my arm. He had it for two seconds before he gasped in pain as Inglorious bent his wrist back.

“Never lay a hand on her,” Inglorious hissed.

“Let me go! Are you going to let him touch me like that?” Raymond demanded of Drew in a high-pitched tone.

“Sure. Why not? You grabbed a lady after all,” Drew drawled.

“Nanci is no lady. She was a stripper and a showgirl,” Raymond spat, and I laughed.

“I was a headliner in both instances; get it right. Drew, take the trash out, please, before I do it myself. If I do it, he might disappear forever.”

Drew sent me an amused look. He didn’t realise I meant exactly what I said. Inglorious did, though, and chuckled.

“Fuck off, loser,” Inglorious exclaimed and began walking me away.

“You’re choosing him over me? Even after he was all over another girl last night?” Raymond shouted, and we both stopped.

“That was you? You sent that dumb bitch in?” I demanded as Inglorious’s eyes narrowed.

“Well, he was all over Katy, wasn’t he? It made you so angry that you broke Katy’s nose. Katy’s considering pressing charges. I can make her drop them… for a fee,” Raymond sneered.

“Drew, take Nanci to the clubhouse,” Inglorious said as he moved forward.

Instead, Drew held a hand up and yanked some cuffs from the back of his jeans. “What I just heard was a blackmail attempt in front of an officer of the law. I'm arresting you. You have the right to…”

“You’re no cop!” Raymond howled as he was spun around and cuffed.

“That was your mistake because I am a fuckin’ cop,” Drew retorted and began dragging Raymond in the direction of the sheriff’s office.

“Well, I do like him,” I said with a grin, and Inglorious nodded.

“That’s one mystery solved.”

“Do you think he’s behind the sabotage?” I asked as Inglorious hooked an arm over my shoulder, and we began heading towards the clubhouse.

“No, I’ve had eyes on him. Dickwad is an idiot, a cheater, and a liar and many other things, but he’s not one of our saboteurs. Hercules is going through the footage, trying to place one vehicle in two places.”

“I don’t think they’re going to stop,” I muttered.

“Neither do I, and my gut is telling me trouble is coming,” Inglorious said.

“Gory!” Kya called and raced towards us.

Inglorious caught her and swung her in the air. Kya giggled as she snuggled into him.

“I love her calling you that,” I murmured as I bonked her on the nose.

“She can say Inglorious, but prefers calling me that. Fuck knows why,” Inglorious replied.

“Lunch?” Kya asked, and we nodded.
