“One of the best features of this suite is the privacy, my little rabbit.” I smooth my thumb over a thick eyebrow, leaning on my other arm so I don’t suffocate her before I’ve had my fun. “You can scream all you want—no one can hear.”

Fear plunges her eyes into dark depths. They flicker over my face as if she’s trying to figure out the punchline of this cosmic joke she’s experiencing first hand.

Aye, the universe has a sick sense of humor. It toys with our lives like we’re the lowest denomination chip at a crappy casino. But, for once, the dice have landed in my favor.

Because I’ve found the one thing that could change my life forever.

Little Mika Vasiliev.

With her, I can turn back time.

I’ll force Dimitri to leave this country, and to take all his scumbag Russian friends with him.

When I wrap my hand around Mika’s neck, and she shudders under me. My cock is right against her pubic bone—I have no doubt she can feel it.

But she’s gone quiet under me. Guess she realizes there’s no point in fighting anymore.

The rabbit knows when the wolf has her in his teeth.

I smile at her.

She glares back defiantly. Daring me to do my worst.

And maybe I will.

After all, I don’t know for certain whether Dimitri will trade Scotland for his daughter. The man’s a sick fuck, as we’ve established countless times before.

But even then, I’ll count this as a win.

Because it’s been a long time since I’ve shed blood. Yeah, I swore never to hurt anyone again…but with little Mika under me right now, I feel like a teetotaler with a glass of whiskey being waved under his nose.

No one’s willpower is that strong.

Iyank at the navy blue tie knotted around my wrists, but it refuses to loosen. It would have been perfect if Cole had tied my wrists together—so much easier to untie—but instead he has bound me to one of the lounging chairs in the living room—one wrist to each golden foot.

And then he told me to get some rest.

As if.

I pause my struggles for a moment, even holding my breath, and strain to listen.

If I am really quiet, I can hear him breathing in the next room.

Fast asleep—as if the angels sang him a lullaby.

How did I get myself into this mess?

I cannot believe I didn’t check the clip. And it is not something Lev forgot to teach me—I just didn’t think the Scot would feel the need to do something that…

Brilliant?

I growl to myself and tug on the ties again, but that only makes them cut deeper into my wrists.

I am truly exhausted. I should probably attempt to get some sleep. But then I would be leaving myself vulnerable to Cole if he woke before I did.
