He lowers his head to mine and stares into my eyes.
"Let go, Red. Everyone just wants to enjoy themselves."
His lips brush mine, once, twice, and the third time, I kiss him back. My alcohol fuelled body allowing me to forget our surroundings momentarily as his tongue slides against mine.
For a few seconds, maybe even a minute, it's just the two of us in my room like last night. His hands slide up from my hips, over the curve of my waist until his thumbs brush over my nipples.
I gasp in shock and pull away from his lips, ready to chastise him for being so… so wicked in public but the second I look into his eyes, I forget everything I was about to say.
Lifting my hand, I run my fingertips over his lips, wiping my lipstick from him.
"Maybe this party was a bad idea. The only place I want to be right now is alone with you in your room."
My heart races as every muscle below my waist clenches in desire.
The thought of having his hands on me again, of feeling that rush he gave me yesterday. Damn, I want it.
"Maybe we should—"
"Leon," a deep booming voice says from behind me, cutting off the suggestion I was about to make.
Leon twists me away and tucks me into his side allowing me to see the man who wants him.
I look up, and up, as he approaches before all the air rushes from my lungs.
Holy crap. He’s scary.
Sure he’s hot. But just looking at him terrifies me.
"Hey. Wasn't expecting you to be here."
"Just checking on the kids," he winks, shooting a glance over at the guys on the couch.
"Have you been to—"
"Yeah. Just came from there. All's good, man. The rat is going strong."
I narrow my eyes at the guy before looking back at Leon suspiciously.
"You met JD?" the guy asks as another steps up beside him.
The guy nods in greeting.
"This is Macie," Leon adds, clearly remembering that I'm standing here.
"Nice to meet you. Reid," the scary guy says, holding his hand out.
Hesitantly, I reach mine out and watch in horror as his engulfs it.
"Nice to meet you. Now if you don't mind. I've got business to attend to."
They both disappear as fast as they arrived leaving me wondering just what kind of party this really is.
"Who was that?" I ask turning to look at Leon once more.
"You heard of the Hawks?"
I narrow my eyes at him, assuming he means a football team but the only others I know of who are close aren't Hawks.
