She bounces off to join the queue to get us both a drink and in only minutes she's back once more.

"So no party tonight then?" I ask, sounding a little too hopeful about it if her raised brow is anything to go by.

"Ha, nice try. We are going out tonight and you are going to enjoy yourself. Fuck Kane fucking Legend. We are going to get drunk and dance the night away."

As promised, a few hours later, that's exactly where I found myself with a very strong vodka in hand watching Ella and Vi grind it up on the dance floor.

"Not going to join them?" a familiar voice says from behind me.

Micah comes to stand next to me as we watch the pair of them dance and joke about.

"You like her, huh?" I ask, the vodka loosening my tongue.

Micah tenses a little before he recovers from his shock at my question.

"That obvious?"

"I see things."

"It doesn't matter. She's not interested in a guy like me."

"Micah, you're a great guy," I say, ripping my gaze from the girl and turning to look at him.

"Not a football player though, am I?"

My lips part to say more, but I decide against it. I can barely get a handle on my own love life right now, the last thing I should be doing is giving anyone else advice.

As if he can read my mind, Micah steps in front of me, ensuring my attention is firmly on him. "Everything's going to be okay, you know."

I narrow my eyes at him. I've still no idea how deep his connection with Ellis goes, but as time goes on, I'm starting to wonder if it's more than I initially thought.

"What do you know?"

He holds his hands up innocently.

"Letty, I—"

Leaning toward him, I ask a question that's been nagging at me for a while. "Micah, are you a Hawk?"

His entire body freezes as that last word rolls off my tongue.

"No,” he states. "I'm not one of them but—"

"You're connected," I guess.

"Something like that."

"You need to be careful. They're—"
