"S'all good, right guys?" Ella turns to the others.

"Of course. Nothing to apologize for," West says, with a wide smile.

"How's he doing?" Violet asks with a wince, while everyone shoots her a death stare. "What? Am I not allowed to be concerned for a fellow student?"

Everyone ignores her and turns back to me.

"He's going to be fine. He's out of the hospital. I'm just gonna go settle back in." Their eyes follow me as I walk around the table where they were all sitting, enjoying their dinner, and pull my key out.

"It wasn't your fault," a soft voice says from behind me.

I pause in the middle of my room.

"It was though."

"Letty," Ella sighs. "Please don't blame yourself for this. He was the one who showed up here having it out with you."

"Yeah, because of me. All of this is because of me."

Kane is right. Everything is my fault.

"No, I refuse to let you believe that."

I drop my bag to the floor with a thud and lower my ass to the edge of my bed.

"How much of our argument did you guys hear?" I ask, my eyes locked on my feet.

"Not much. It wasn't very easy to make out the words through the door." The bed dips beside me and she reaches for my hand. "Whatever it is. I'm here. You can tell me anything and it won't go any farther."

I glance over at her, her liquid honey eyes hold compassion I've never seen on her before and I wonder just how honest she's being with me about what she heard.

"I really appreciate it. But it's still too raw."

"I understand, and that's totally fine."

"I need to talk to him. I need to explain."

"Just give it some time."

"He's never going to forgive me," I admit.

"I thought you hated him?" Ella asks, but there's no judgment in her tone.

"It's complicated."

"Isn't it always." She blows out a breath, making me think she's dealing with something herself right now.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I offer.

"I… uh… I slept with him again."

"Colt?"

"Uh-huh."

"But I thought he didn't do repeats."

"Apparently I broke the rule."
