"Huh, a bit like I'll never forgive you for—"

"Enough," she snaps. "You've taken what you wanted from me. We're done."

She stands, tugs her bag up higher on her shoulder and storms away.

If she believes the words that just came out of her mouth then she really needs to think again because we are so far from being done.

I don't get a chance to talk to her again for the rest of the day because come statistics, her personal bodyguards are in place.

The second Luca catches my eye, his narrow in warning. He's itching to continue what he started in the locker room yesterday. I can only imagine he's pissed right now that someone else got to me first.

I smile at him before moving my eyes over to Letty, ensuring my eyes linger on her long enough that she's no choice but to feel my heated stare.

She doesn't look up, but I know she's aware of me.

I can see it in the hard set of her shoulders.

Just to piss me off, Luca spends the entire class with his arm over the back of Letty's chair. His thumb intermittently stroking her shoulder as if she's his.

Asshole.

The second class is over, I blow out of there like the place is on fire without looking at anyone.

I'm fucking wiped but I've still got a two-hour training session with his highness to get through.

I knew joining the team, becoming part of Luca's offense would be a fucking challenge but shit. At this rate, we're going to kill each other before our first game next week.

The thought sure is tempting but as much as I might hate him, he's a fucking killer quarterback. And I hate to admit it, but there's a part of me that's looking forward to playing with him, not against him like we always have in the past. Not that I'd ever admit that to anyone though.

I forgo dinner after practice and studying doesn't even enter my head as I fall face-first into my bed and almost immediately pass out.

She manages to avoid me all day Wednesday despite the fact I try to search her out just to rile her up.

By the time I get back to the house, I've almost decided that I'm going to head to her dorm to see if I can sneak in and prove to her just how wrong she was after class on Tuesday by telling me that we're done.

Only, it turns out that I don't need to make that much effort because no sooner have I finished my statistics assignment for the next day does my cell buzz on the nightstand.

I smile when I see her name. Has she been missing me?

Princess: Is there any chance you could come and help me with something?

Letty

Flipping the blade closed, I slip it inside the zip pocket of my purse before pulling out my compact mirror and my lip gloss.

My cell pings and I lift it up and smile.

Kane: Leaving now.

I glance over at my quickly deflating tire and smile.

Got you, you sonofabitch.

I saw him today, hiding in the shadows searching for me. Stalking me as if I were his prey.

It shouldn't have excited me as much as it did knowing that I could see him but he had no idea where I was.
