"Yeah. Meeither."

"Is there anything else I can helpyouwith?"

"You won't tell Alessandra about ourconversation?"

"No. Oursecret."

"Good. Nice to talk to you…" He struggles to reach for my name. "Uh, I'll seeyouthen."

"Until then." I let out a heavy breath as I hang up the call. "That guy gives me thecreeps."

"He's the worst." Alessandra leans back and puts her feet up on her desk. "Are you going to prepare thatstatement?"

"Maybe."Absolutely.

"Logan will bepissed."

"Logan will betrashed."

She laughs. "He doesn't drink that much. And he's smarter than he looks. Don't tell me you fall for him as apartyboy?"

What's to fall for? Logan is a party boy. A manwhore. Whatever you want to call it, Logan sleeps around and has a lot of fundoingit.

Even so—"I'll run itbyhim."

"You okay?" She pushes herself up from her desk. "You look like you're abouttohurl."

"I'm okay." I feel like I'm about to hurl, but I'm not sure if it's nerves orsomethingelse.

"You want aclubsoda?"

"Sure."

She goes to her mini-bar and pops open a can. Then she's grabbing a bottle of gin and pouring both into aglass.

She hands the drinktome.

"You know I only drink gin andtonic."

"I don't do tonicwater."

I shake my head. "Justthesoda."

She shrugssuit yourself, downs half the drink, and hands over the half empty can ofclubsoda.

I take a greedy sip. The bubbles burst on my tongue, the same as always, but they do nothing torefreshme.

They do nothing to ease the nausea in mythroat.

"Jayce put in his two weeks' notice," she says. "There are half a dozen tours he's managing. If we don't find someone to take over, we'll have to divide them, and I'll end up doing fuckingeverything."

I stare back into my boss's eyes. Is she really suggesting Itakeover?

Sixtours?

Alessandra doesn't even manage six toursatonce.

I clear my throat. "I'm sure you and Liv canhandleit."
