Like in high school.
Griffin nodsyeah.
Wes shakes his head. "We have any evidence Chase is a—"
"Cunning linguist?" Griffin chuckles. "That really what you were going to say?"
"Yeah." Wes shrugs. "You got a problem with that? Jeez." He runs his hand through his sandy hair. "You're as moody as Chase."
"I'm moody?" Griffin raises a brow.
Wes nods yeah.
"'Cause I'd rather call things what they are?" Griffin asks.
Wes groans. "Jesus, Griff, I'm trying to have a little class."
"Let's use real words. Does Chase eat pussy?" Griffin asks.
Wes cringes. "Pussy? And I'm in high school?"
"You think I haven't seen your sexts?" Griffin asks.
"You two have a point?" If I don't stop them, they'll go all day.
"Yeah, Griff wants to know if you're eating pussy." Wes chuckles.
Griffin nodsit's a fair question.
"She was cute. Into you," Wes says.
"Crying. That's your type," Griffin says.
Wes shakes his head. "Jesus, Griff, tact!"
"Chase is miserable. She's miserable. Seems like they'd get along." Griffin shrugsit's the truth. Do you want me to lie?
He doesn't realize most people don't appreciate his level of honesty.
I don't mind. I'd rather hear the truth, even if it hurts.
I know what people think of me. They don't have to dance around it.
"Maybe. If Chase finds one of thoseI want my ex to die in a car crashchicks it might encourage his worst impulses." Wes's sandy hair falls over his head as he tilts his head to one side. "Maybe he needs someone like Quinn." He sighs with bliss as he refers to his girlfriend.
"A virgin?" Griffin chuckles. "You're the only one obsessed with conquering. Unless—" He looks to me and raises a brow. "Is that why you've been holding back?"
"You got me," I deadpan. "I can't fuck a woman unless I'm her first."
Wes and Griffin share a look. One at my expense.
The details elude me. I used to know all of Wes's looks—he is my baby brother. But shit changed when I kicked our brother Hunter out of our old shop.
It was necessary. Hunter lied about getting sober. Promised to quit then didn't. Letting him stay would have been enabling him. It would have pushed him toward a path that ended in—
Well, in a tattoo with lilies.
Sometimes you have to hurt someone to help them.
