"Baby, you know that's not true," he says.
She laughs.
He wraps his arms around her waist. Pulls her body into his. Whispers something in her ear. Something dirty.
Leighton turns to her boyfriend. She kisses him hard.
He kisses back without a hint of shyness.
Seriously, they're moaning and tugging at clothes and rocking their hips like they're about to get naked.
Jules clears her throat.
I shake my head. "They don't stop."
"But he's always so… not like this." Jules laughs. She's seen Ryan a dozen times, but he's always been alone. He's always been the quiet all business guy who hangs out in the corner.
He's different around his girlfriend. Warmer. Brighter. More alive.
I know the feeling.
Jules is—
I wrap my arms around my wife. Pull her into a slow kiss.
She groans against my mouth.
I press my palms into her ass.
She pulls back with a sigh. "Tell me there's someplace private."
"Don't even think about using my bedroom," Ryan says.
"Which one is yours?" I ask.
"It's notyourbedroom anymore." Leighton's breath is shaky. "You moved out ten years ago."
"No one else has come there and I'd like to keep it that way," he says.
"What about earlier?" she coos.
"You know what I mean, baby," he says.
"You had sex without making your girl come? Shameful." I shake my head.
"Nobody comes without me." He shoots her a knowing look.
Leighton smiles. "Don't give Griffin ideas. He'll invite you to watch."
Not inaccurate. I turn to Jules. "What do you think?"
"Um… that's really flattering, Ryan, but I prefer having my husband all to myself," she says.
Leighton presses her hand to her heart. Sighs like we're the most romantic thing she's ever seen. "When did you know?"
"Know what?" I ask.
"That you were in love with her?" Leighton presses her hands together. "With Ryan… I wanted him right away. Even when he was with his ex. I wasn't going to do anything about it. Hell, I figured I was suffering from the same bad taste that had led me astray for… ever."
