I take her hands.

Elvis mumbles something about how we need to love and cherish each other.

Then Jules stares into my eyes and promises to give me everything she has.

She slides a silver band—included with our three-hundred-dollar package, of course—onto my ring finger.

Elvis tries to feed me vows, but I take over. "I promise, no matter what happens tomorrow, you'll always be my best friend."

I slide the ring onto her finger.

I don't wait for instruction.

I kiss her like she's everything I want.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Juliette

As promised, we make one stop after the ceremony. It's perfect. Better than perfect.

After, we climb into a limo, pop a bottle of champagne, drink like fishes.

By the time I step into the hotel, I'm giddy and drunk and completely exhausted.

I trip over my dress. Really, who came up with the idea of a train? It's incredibly impractical. As is a dress that skims the floor.

Griff wraps his arms around me before I can dive face-first into the tile. "Come here, baby." He slides one arm under my ass. Slings the other under my armpits.

In one swift move, he lifts me and holds me to his chest.

I giggle as I wrap my arms around his neck.

He's so strong and comfortable.

And mine.

I know it's not forever. It's only tonight. The magic ends tomorrow.

The ring and the dress and the promises—

It's all part of the spell.

When the spell wears off…

Griff carries me into the elevator. "Can you do me a favor?"

"Mhmm?" My eyelids get heavy. It must be late. There are no clocks anywhere. It's some sort of Vegas conspiracy. No clocks, no natural light, no way to tell the time.

"Reach into my back pocket."

I slide my hand into his slacks. Mmm. He's so hard and warm. His body feels good. There are more poetic ways to describe it, but, God, he really does feel good.
