He and Jackson are the only people who know.

Neither handled it well, not at first.

Griff tries. He does. But he doesn't know.

If he freaks again…

"You're the smartest person I know, Jules, but you can be a fucking idiot," Griff says.

"What?"

He follows my gaze to the happy couple. "Yeah, you're messy. You have terrible taste in music. And you wear way too much royal blue. But you're also passionate, and sweet, and caring, and honest, and beautiful. You're so fucking beautiful. I know that's not what matters, but it has to be said." He brings his hand to my chin. Turns my head so we're eye to eye.

God, he has such pretty eyes.

"You throw yourself into what you love. And when you find something, you get this look in your eyes. You laugh with your entire body. You love with your soul. Even when it's some shitty YA series."

"I don't read shitty series."

"You can admit you likedTwilight."

"I didn't love it." I clear my throat. "I only love excellent stuff."

He chuckles. "All right. You love excellent YA series with your soul."

"Thank you."

Griff smiles thatyou're ridiculoussmile. "Any guy in his right mind would be lucky to marry you."

"Griff—"

"This is our night, right?"

"Yeah."

"One perfect night in Vegas?"

Exactly. I nod.

He reaches into his back pocket. Pulls out something. "We're missing one part of the Vegas experience."

"What?"

He unfurls his palm to reveal an engagement ring.

"Griff—"

"Marry me, Jules." He drops onto one knee. "I don't want this to end when we wake up. I want you forever."

"But—" Fuck, that ring is massive. And familiar.

Oh.

It's his mom's engagement ring.

The one she left when she bailed on his family.

The one that fucked up his head.
