“Two what?”

"Two times, you've been disrespectful with your language. I won’t let the third time go so easily.”

“Fuck off!”

“Okay,” I nod, walking calmly down the front steps of my porch and picking up one of the landscaping rocks that line the front hedge. It's not big, but it's about the size of a child’s football, and it will convey all I need it to.

“What are you going to do?” the guy asks, walking down Sunshine’s steps to meet me. “Are you going to try and hit me with that?”

I can hear Sunshine’s door open, but I don’t take my eyes off the guy in front of me. He may be a jackass, but I’m sure if he wanted to, he could put up a decent fight before I kicked his ass.

“Stay inside, Felicity,” I tell her. The door clicks shut, and I'm grateful that I don't have to worry about her safety. "I'm not going to throw this at you. You could probably easily jump out of its way. No, I’m going to throw this at your car.”

“You can’t do that,” he says, his eyes widening in concern like he’s not convinced of his own words.

“I don’t see anyone out here but you and me.” I smile. “No witnesses.”

The guy points to Felicity's door, and we both see her face staring out the window. But instead of the sunshine girl I’ve become accustomed to living next door to, there is a look of anger in her eyes I’ve never seen before. She lifts her hand and flips the guy off before dropping the curtain and walking away.

“I don’t think she’s going to be of much help to you,” I say calmly. “Now, you have two options. You can either leave here right now with your windshield fully intact and never return. Or—” I lift my arm with the rock held high.

“Okay, okay!” He yells, holding his hands out to stop me. “I’m going. You two deserve each other.”
