"On your hands and knees," he commanded, his voice rough with need.
She obeyed without question, her body tensing with anticipation. Caius admired the curve of her back, and the way her hips arched perfectly. He reached for his pants and boxers, shedding the last of his clothes before positioning himself behind her.
"You're completely mine, Quinn. Nobody else's," he murmured, his hands gripping her hips.
He entered her in one powerful thrust, and she cried out, the sound echoing off the trees and mountains. Caius grinned, his body surging with primal satisfaction. He set a relentless pace, his movements hard and deep, every thrust a claim and a reminder of who she belonged to.
"Caius!" she screamed, her voice trembling with pleasure. Her hands gripped the blanket, her body arching to meet his. "Yes!"
Before long, he felt her tighten around him, her climax crashing over her like a tidal wave. It pushed him over the edge, and he roared as he spilled himself inside her, his body shuddering with the force of his release. He collapsed onto the blanket, pulling her with him and wrapping his arms around her.
"God, how did I get so lucky? You're absolutely perfect," he murmured into her hair, his chest still heaving.
She laughed softly, her fingers tracing patterns on his chest. "You're pretty perfect yourself, Alpha."
Caius grinned, pressing a kiss on her forehead. He felt a sense of happiness and completeness that he'd never known before her. Quinn was his, now and forever. His Lioness. His future.
And as he held her under the stars, he knew that this was the start of something magical.
TWENTY-ONE
QUINN
The afterglow of their passionate lovemaking still hummed through Quinn's body as she lay naked against Caius's chest in the truck bed with the stars glittering overhead like scattered diamonds. The golden necklace around her neck shimmered in the moonlight, a tangible reminder of the vows she'd just made.
I'm officially his Lioness now,she thought, tracing lazy circles on his muscled chest.I've never felt so complete in my entire life.
The peaceful moment shattered when both their phones erupted in simultaneous cacophony.
"Shit," Caius muttered, reaching for his device while Quinn scrambled for hers, the blanket slipping as they moved.
Kate's name flashed on Quinn's screen, and her stomach dropped. Kate never called this late unless something was seriously wrong.
"Kate, what's?—"
"Quinn, thank God!" Kate's voice crackled with panic through the speaker. "I need you. Right now. Two of our patients went into labor simultaneously—Jenny Martens and SamanthaChen. Jenny's been pushing for three hours and Samantha's water just broke. I can't handle both deliveries alone."
Quinn's heart rate spiked as she watched Caius's face darken with whatever news he was receiving. "Did you try calling Dr. Reeves from the Lakewood practice?"
"She's in surgery at Presbyterian. Quinn, I wouldn't ask if I had any other choice. I know you're committed to the Leon situation, but these women trust us. They chose our practice specifically because they wanted personal care, not some random doctor they've never met."
The weight of responsibility settled over Quinn's shoulders like a familiar coat. These are my patients. Women who believed in me enough to trust me with the most important moment of their lives."I'm on my way. I can be there in under two hours if I push it."
"You're a lifesaver. Plus, Samantha's asking for you specifically."
Quinn ended the call and turned to find Caius's jaw clenched tight, his phone pressed to his ear.
"Lavinia, slow down," he was saying, his Alpha voice cutting through what sounded like hysterical crying from the other end. "Take a deep breath and tell me exactly what happened to Henry."
Henry?Quinn's blood chilled. The man who'd raised Caius and Lavinia, and who'd welcomed Quinn into their family with such warmth?—
"The hospital?" Caius shot to his feet, magnificently naked and radiating barely controlled power. "I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Don't make any medical decisions without me."
They stared at each other for a heartbeat, both processing the cruel timing of their respective emergencies.
"Henry?" Quinn asked softly.
"Some kind of cardiac episode. Lavinia found him collapsed in the kitchen." Caius's hands shook as he reached for his scattered clothes. "He's conscious but they're running tests."
