“Queen also works,” she said after a moment of reconsideration.

“Whatever makes you comfortable,” I assured her.

Mor perked up, as if hearing someone else speak to her. She turned to look at Jax. I could tell they were having one of their mental conversations.

“Sure would be nice to talk into people’s minds,”I thought.

“Jasper?”Mor’s voice filled my head while she quickly turned to face me. “Did you just..”

“I think so,”I thought, which was much different from saying.

“Hey! I wonder if I could…”Justice’s voice sounded in my mind, overly loud before cutting off without the rest of the thought.

“I can hear you, Justice,”Mor answered, and my head tried to bounce along with the different speakers.

“Hey, Fox. We should sneak off into a dark corner--”

“I can hear you too!”I said quickly before Justice started to describe in too much detail.

I wasn’t sure my mind could handle having those words spoken directly into it without me needing to take a dip in a lava flow.

“Oh great! So, Fox, you and Jasper should sneak away to a dark corner and—”

“Not now, Justice,”I said, facing him despite the silent conversation. I turned back to the rest of the pack, rolling my eyes. “I’m guessing this is a Lucifer power thing.”

“He could speak directly into my mind. No matter how hard of a shield I put up,”Mor said, and Jax nodded.

I knew that Lucifer had the power to speak into any demon’s mind. Still, I didn’t expect that ability to transfer to us. I wasn’t sure if it was because of the mark on our chests or if it was a power bestowed upon whoever held the title of King of Hell.

“I am certainly not complaining,” Justice said, using his regular voice directly behind my ear, which made me jump.

“Can I please hit him?”I asked, intending to speak only to Mor.

“I don’t like it when you fight each other,”she sighed.

I thought about the fact that I could speak into Mor’s mind, a power I never knew was obtainable. Then I considered the fact that it wasn’t the only power Lucifer was known to wield. In the pit of Hell, I already proved that piece had been added to our arsenal. There was no knowing just how many powers we had added to our already impressive load out.

Maybe that was why the sins gladly handed over the crowns. They knew issuing a challenge against an entire pack that could wield the powers of Lucifer was a suicide mission. While our parents, and the other sins, were known for their love of power, they valued their own lives above all else.

“Not now. But once we get a grip on our powers, I will have a round with him.”I hoped that would ease her mind, knowing I wouldn’t break into a random fight at our coronation. But there would come a time when I would let Justice have a piece of the war he created.

“Why don’t we go be social rulers,” Mor suggested, changing the subject since she didn’t exactly get her desired answer.

“I saw Ryan and the rest of the pack near our balcony.” I pointed to the side where Justice sat, and he gave me a look suggesting he knew just how badly he was irritating me.

Mor led the way, with Jax and Jace on either side. Which left Justice next to me as we walked down to the lower level.

“I was wondering if you would bother with saying hello now that you fucking rule the realm,” Springfield said as a way of congratulations. He had a big smile as his arm reached wide to attempt to give me a quick hug. “No, seriously. You will need to tell us what happened one of these days. The common demons are shaken up, talking about sensing change.”

Zeb stood just behind Springfield, towering over him and nodding in affirmation. “We’re just looking to have answers.”

“Lilith killed Lucifer. Damn, near killed us all. But in the end, I got her.”I hoped I managed to deliver the message directly into their minds and watched their faces for any indication.

Springfield leaned in, his eyes wide. “Really?”

I nodded my head, feeling a slow, creeping smile spread. I really did kill Lilith.

The thought clicked home inside my mind. I had killed one of the most powerful demons ever to exist.
