“We should do things together more. And not just rune meets,” I said, as the thought came into my mind.

“I planned to go to the bar after this. You’re free to join me,” Aggie shrugged as she cleaned her tools and put them away.

Jasper perked up, as if interested. “Which bar?”

“Rock Bottom.” Aggie looked at him over her shoulder with a smirk.

Justice’s arms were draped around me, and I felt the squeeze of his grip, but I also felt his cock twitch against my back.

“What’s Rock Bottom’s thing?” I asked, my curiosity piqued.

“It’s just a bar on ring seven. Humans would call it a hole-in-the-wall or something,” Jasper answered. The excitement in his tone dampened, which confused me.

“They have a poison list and let you build your own concoctions,” Justice whispered behind me.

“Sounds like fun,” I said before looking over to see Jax and Jace admiring me with identical expressions.

Iwalkedthroughthedoorway behind Justice and into a small, dark bar. A faint yellow glow came from bundles of light crystals set in the center of round tables. It smelled like stale beer and cigarettes, but I couldn’t see either. A long bar ran alongside the left wall, and Aggie sat atop a barstool with a sizeable green drink in her hand.

Justice headed straight to the bar, waving down a demon with lime-green hair. “OneBatty Rockerand half a shot ofAdmiral’s Asshole. Two glasses.”

“Honestly, I didn’t think you would show,” Aggie said as we took over a table closest to where she sat. “Seems the honeymoon phase is over already.”

I laughed, knowing it wouldn’t be possible to get all the sex out of our system. “Got to come up for air sometime.”

Justice placed a glass of swirling yellow in front of me. It seemed to shine from inside, twisting and churning within itself. I watched Justice take a large swig of his identical drink. The green of his runes seemed to glow, and when he opened his eyes, they shone like a bright light. The entire bar lit up in a flash. Justice blinked after a moment, and the surrounding air plunged back into darkness.

“I call it theLightning Bug,” Justice laughed, setting his drink down on the table with enough force to nearly spill it.

I looked at mine, admiring the swirling color but unsure I wanted to drink something that would make me light up like a Christmas tree for a few seconds. The door to the bar opened, and I turned to see who had entered.

Springfield led the way, followed by Ryan and Zeb. They didn’t look surprised to see us, and excitement wafted from Jasper. Aggie, however, had a look of horror on her face, her eyes trained on Springfield.

“Pre-hunt party. I like it,” Ryan said, grabbing a chair from one of the other tables. His short blond hair was perfectly styled to look like he had just tumbled out of bed. He beamed perfectly straight white teeth as he smiled, openly distracted by Aggie’s breasts.

Zeb brought a chair from one of the other tables and smacked Ryan on the back of the head. It was enough to make Ryan reboot and return to the real world.

“I’m not interested,” Aggie said firmly.

“I,” Ryan started before floundering as he looked at Zeb for help. Zeb shook his head, and Ryan turned to look at Springfield as he arrived with his own chair. I noticed Aggie stiffen on the other side of the table, and a shot provided by Hell appeared in front of her.

“What’s going on between Aggie and Springfield?”I asked Jax.

“I don’t know. Ask Jasper.”

I looked around the small bar. It was mostly empty except for our large party and two other demons seated further down the bar. There wasn’t a place to dance or anything to do other than talk and drink.

“Aggie,” Springfield said as he pulled his chair close to her stool.

She glared down at him before shifting her narrowed gaze to Jax. He smirked, staring her down like he was enjoying the hell out of her discomfort. Aggie’s eyes rolled, but I noticed the slight smile she tried to hide.

“How’re things going with my sister? Still trying to talk her into carrying your demon spawn?” Aggie’s tone was enough to cut a man, but Springfield smiled like an actual demon.

“That’s how I know you.” Springfield relaxed into his chair, conjuring a drink from Hell. His eyes never left Aggie’s as he brought the glass to his lips for a taste.

Even without feeling emotions, no one could miss the tension between them. But I wasn’t sure if they hated each other or if they wanted to fuck.

“I’m glad you came,” Jasper said, attempting to clear the air. “I have an idea to shake up the hunt.”
