My attention snapped back to her folds, and I watched the glistening red drops as they spilled over her clit before dripping inside her. I pushed my tongue inside, chasing the drops of blood as I felt her muscles contracting around my tongue, welcoming me. I devoured every drop before sliding my tongue slowly and firmly up her folds and over her clit.
“Jace,” she moaned out my name, and if I were a lesser vampire, I might have come right then and there. The blade fell from her hand, silently dropping to the floor as both her hands went in to press my face further into her thighs.
I kept my pace precisely the same, knowing now was not the time to switch things up with her so close and my supply of fresh blood currently limited. My tongue came to slowly stroke her clit before a quick flip back down to repeat the process, each slide bringing her closer and closer to the edge. One small bite would take her over at this point, but I wanted her to come all over me without needing the pull from the bite. Jax could suck himself if he thought I couldn’t make her come even with his fucking rules.
Her muscles began to tighten, and I quickly tipped her over the edge with several quick movements from the tip of my tongue, vibrating across her clit. She came, screaming into the dim space of the hallway, leaning against the wall with my head securely trapped in her grasp between her thighs.
I was surprised that none of the other demons raced out into the hall to investigate her screams, but it wasn’t hard to figure out they were happy screams. Her thighs twitched around me as she loosened her grip and let me pull back. My eyes roamed her body as she glistened in a mixture of blood, sweat, and saliva. Her chest rose and fell with her panting breaths. The look in her hooded eyes as she stared back at me in a heady combination of exhaustion and pleasure just made me want to do it again.
“See,” she breathed out, “bending the rules can be just as much fun.” She laughed lightly to herself, enjoying the win.
I removed her leg from my shoulder so I could stand, towering over her, knowing without a doubt at this moment, I owned her. A smile stretched across my face.
“Does it turn you on, Darling, knowing you defy him?” I cupped her cheek in my hand gently. “I do need to get you another collar,” I mused, waiting for her to vocalize what I already knew to be true. Forbidden always had a rare flavor of its own.
“I think you turn me on,” she said slowly with that glimmer of wickedness.
“Well, I already knew that, Darling. But you get a little extra jolt from this just because someone said no, don’t you?” My hand grabbed her jaw firmly, and I watched excitement spring forward in her gaze. Her eyes darkened slightly as the monster inside her let me know I was spot on. She remained entirely docile within my grasp, while still maintaining an air of superiority that screamed out she remained completely in control.
The only time I had ever seen her entirely lose control was during the middle of the bloodlust when I helped her complete the transition into a vampire. I wanted to know that side of her again. It became my new challenge to figure out a way to break her absolute control and pull her into the depths of depravity she hid from the world.
“Time for bed now, Darling. We have a mate to rescue later,” I smiled sweetly despite my firm grasp on her jaw, dipping in to give her the softest kiss against her lips.
“What about you?” her gaze tried to flick down, but I held her head firmly.
“I’ll call in what I am owed when it suits me best, Darling.” I released her, leaving her against the wall as I headed into the bedroom to change into a soft pair of pajama pants before cuddling up against Justice’s back in the large bed.
Jasper was snoring loudly, but I couldn’t tell if Justice was sleeping or not. His eyes were closed, but he lay there entirely still, breathing eerily even. I felt the bed dip as Mor worked her way between Justice and Jasper, nestling into her spot in the middle of her men. Time for a bit of rest before going to rescue the other one.
CHAPTER14
JAX
The waiting room to the angel realm was blindingly white. It reminded me of the bright sky high above the ninth ring of Hell, but without the trees and mountains to break up the horizon. Just bright white light poured down on me day in and day out as I waited in a solitary chair. Now that Jace was gone, I missed his company. At least when he was here, I had someone to talk to. Not that we spoke.
Time simply had no meaning, no end or beginning in this place. I quickly lost track of how long I sat waiting after Jace left. Suddenly, an elegant blonde angel dressed in long white shapeless clothes emerged in the room.
“Jax, Prince of Hell. The rest of your party is in the meeting room awaiting your arrival,” said the angel, her voice sounding like the chime of a bell.
I got up to my feet, trying not to let my irritation show. My bones cracked from spending too long in the same position. At least the angel realm was made from the same celestial power as the demon realm, which meant my energy was not drained much from being here while shielding the entire time. Nothing that a stiff drink and a round of one-on-one wouldn’t fix as soon as I got home.
The angel led me through an invisible doorway, through another empty white room, only to disappear through another hidden door at the end. Following the angel through the second doorway, I entered a room with walls and a table. Mor, Jasper, Justice, and Jace sat along with another angel. This one had hair as dark as mine that fell to his shoulders. His face suggested he wasn’t as pleasant as the angel that led me here, who had seemingly vanished.
“Take a seat, Jax. We are already a bit late getting started.” The angel said, pointing to a single empty chair next to Jace.
All of my muscles were tense as I grabbed the chair and moved it back enough to sit in, but I held my tongue, wondering how the fuck I could be late when I had been sitting here for what felt like days.
“Great, now that we have everyone here,” the angel started, looking at Mor like she wasted his time. “You claim to have uncovered an abnormality pertinent to the human realm.”
I watched Mor sit up straighter as she looked firmly at the angel. “I need your help concerning two of my mates. They seem to have a connection that allows one to feel the other’s pain. I was hoping you might have some answers concerning that. Depending on how helpful you are, I may have some important information concerning souls and spells written in Enochian in the human realm.”
The angel just stared at her. I wouldn’t imagine it was commonplace for someone to attempt strong-arming an angel, but it did not surprise me in the least Mor was the one to try it.
“It’s a bold move,”I whispered into her mind as I eased back into my chair, getting more comfortable.
“You are not a demon,” the angel finally said, his tone light.
“Demonling,” Mor announced with pride as a smile stretched across her face.
