His hand wrapped around my neck, adorning me like a necklace.
“No, Darling, I did not want to jump you at the first minor opportunity. I want to savor you, Morrigan. I want you with a collar on and your skin covered in knots. Fuck. I want to consume you, Darling, and there is nothing minor about that.” His stare was intense, but his hand around my throat was familiar.
“You know he likes to do that too, put his hand around my neck.”
Jace’s eyes darkened, and I tried to read his emotions, but they were so complex that they didn’t give me a complete answer. Really, I didn’t know a lot about how Jace felt about being a soul echo. He took his hand off me slowly, as if he was unsure what I expected from him.
“I like it. It’s something I like about both of you, and now we know why you two are so similar yet entirely different souls. How do you feel about being an echo?”
Jace sat back on the couch, mentally considering my question. “I guess it makes me feel like I belong here. And further points to all the shit that went down in mid-realm was for the best. If I get more powers, that is fine. If I don’t, it’s not like I have a hard time holding my own, even here in Hell. And now we know why, because my soul belongs here. I might be an add-on member, but this is my cosmic fate.”
“I don't see you as an add-on. You were our missing puzzle piece. And you know, if Jax did this on purpose, knowing you wouldn’t be able to have sex with me, then actually having sex with me would be an act of rebellion?” I batted my eyelashes and smirked at him.
Jace slowly put his hand back on my throat, gently rubbing his thumb in a circle against my skin. “How will I keep you interested in me once things are no longer forbidden?”
“Jace, I don’t think you need to worry about me losing interest in you. But I am sure between the two of us; we can make adventures out of sex.”
He smiled at my words before leaning up to lick my lips with his tongue.
“Soon, Darling. Soon I will have you, but not here. Not tonight,” Jace said with complete clarity as he looked at me. His hand around my throat tightened lightly, and I groaned, closing my eyes as I tried to capture the fleeting feeling of adrenaline as it raced through my blood.
I felt his lips on my neck, his hand moving to allow himself access. His sharp fangs scratched at my skin as shivers ran through my body. I felt his hand as it trailed down the front of my dress, feeling my curves.
“Sit still,” he commanded, and I could feel the tug on my very soul. I could fight against it, but right now, I wanted nothing more than to give over my free will. My body immediately stiffened.
I heard him laugh lowly before giving my neck a playful nip.
His hand trailed lower to the edge of my dress, my knee still spread, giving him easy access to the tiny black thong with “nom, nom, nom” on the front. He couldn’t see the words because his lips remained on my neck. His fangs pushed into my skin while his finger pushed between my folds.
Sucking my blood while pumping and curling his finger in my pussy had me coming in no time.
“Now that should tide you over, Darling. Didn’t want you leaving entirely unfulfilled.” He pulled his finger from me, sticking the entire thing in his mouth to savor my taste.
“Don't worry about me. Between Justice and Jasper, I feel I will be very filled tonight.”
CHAPTER17
JUSTICE
We were finally all back together under one roof again. The singles bedroom was converted magically into a new pack nest, giving us some more space from each other. I had a feeling my little fox liked her nest better than the bed. Of course, she slept in it last night, with us curled around her. Where she goes; we go. Like magnetic moths drawn to a metal light.Flap. Yoink. Thwap.
You can’t let me die like this, please! I’m begging you.The disembodied voice of an old woman screamed in my head. Just another one of the fractured soul memories digging away at the inside of my mind. They’ve been louder lately.
“I figured out something weird with the hunts,” Jasper said, breaking the silence of the morning. Mor groaned and stretched but didn’t make a move to get out of the nest. As if being horribly innocent and cute could save her from needing to get up.
“There are many messed up reports from some idiot low-powered demon. Ryan and his pack are looking for the reporting demon. We are going to start taking on cases the right way.” Jasper laid half on his side, his elbow propping himself up. He was relatively calm.
“Is that why you want to drag me out of bed before noon?” Mor grumbled playfully as she reached out her hand to caress his face.
Jasper’s eyes closed as he leaned into her touch. Waves of love rippled off him like the purr of a cat.
Just kill it; taking care of a pet is not how I want to spend the next decade.I shook my head as if I could shake the stupid voices out.
“I think it’s what we need as a pack. To do it right from the start. It is a real case, working together, teaching each other, all of it. That is what I need from my pack, and I think it’s what the pack needs.” Jasper’s eyes were open as he spoke passionately to Mor. We all knew she was our pack now.
Mor nodded, “that sounds good, Jasper. Do you have a case picked out, or did you want us to do that together?”
Jasper smiled. “I have the perfect case.”
