“Did Jax teach you to use your hand like a wand?” I asked. Jax hadn’t done any telepathic training with me; I picked it up. Pun intended.

“I suggested it after the first few failed days. He said I may as well try it.” Jace shrugged before looking over to Jax. I noticed the slight waft of concern as it trickled off Jace before he smoothed out his emotions.

“When I use the power,” I said, snatching Jace’s arm quickly. Pulling it up high enough to be caught within the awaiting restraint, powered by my telepathic power. The click of the lock seemed to echo in my heart. “I just think of whatever it is as mine.” The restraint clicked into place around his ankle. Our chests were pressed together.

He cupped my cheek with his left hand before giving me a slow, entire body-melting kiss. My toes curled inside the bondage shoes I wore.

“I am yours. Put me wherever you need, Darling, between your thighs or on the front line to defend you. I am your puppet to obey,” he whispered before pulling back.

I didn’t open my eyes right away, more like I couldn’t. I cut out a little box of this space, putting it safely away in my mind. Hopefully, I could come back here anytime I wanted and laugh my ass off.

Two different locks clicked free, and I didn’t give a moment’s hesitation before I shot out from between Jace and the frame. I sat down on the couch with a smirk, crossing my legs in my short black dress. The restraints’ locks required a squeeze from each side to set the release. Very little power is needed. Jax came and sat down next to me, raising an eyebrow. His slight smirk suggested he enjoyed this change of events.

“Darling?” Jace asked with a sigh as he faced away from us.

“Yes, Dearest?” I said, using the sweetest voice I could muster without laughing.

“Is there a general objective here?”

“I would assume that is obvious. Using telepathic powers only, release the restraints.” I was going out on a limb, but I had a feeling the touching between the two of them accomplished nothing. If Jace had the power within himself, he would be able to use it independently, or he wouldn’t have it.

“I’ll give it a try,” he said as I watched his back muscles as he shrugged to the best of his ability with one of his arms bound above his head.

I watched his free hand flick wildly at the restraint around his ankle.

“Like you own it, Jace. You’re not trying to push power to move it; you own it. You tell it what to do,” I suggested.

Jace’s hand stopped waving, but his entire body went rigid as he was no doubt concentrating.

“He may not have the power at all. Or maybe it’s something he will come into when he starts transitioning into a demon form. I got my powers gradually,” I said, turning to Jax.

Jax’s eyes weren’t on Jace; he had been looking at me the entire time. I watched his arm move slowly, coming up to rest on the back of the couch behind my head. He wasn’t touching me, but only just.

“I can almost feel something inside him calling me when we touch. There are pieces in him that I don’t have and vice versa. They almost whisper in my mind whenever we are close enough.” Jax looked over to Jace with something akin to sympathy in his gaze.

“And it’s hard to be touched like that, and that’s ok too, Jax,” I said softly.

Jax looked at me with a soft, sad smile, his finger curling around a lock of my hair. “I’m going to check on Jasper and Justice. One of them is probably unconscious by now. I’ll get them back to the cabin, stay here with Jace and have some fun.” Jax stood, and I followed, desperately searching through his emotions, trying to determine his intentions. “I have to start somewhere, Babe. Not standing in the way feels like something I can manage for now. Plus, if he goes first, I get to claim the last first badge.” Jax smiled quickly and then left the room, locking it back up behind him.

“Can I breathe now, or do you think it will break the spell?” Jace said with laughter in his tone.

I released the restraints holding Jace up with barely a thought as I plopped back down on the couch, pulling one knee up for comfort.

He walked over cautiously, looking back towards the door before taking a seat next to me on the couch. He was close enough that my knee brushed his thigh.

“He is a genius; I’ll give him that,” Jace said, looking back to the door.

“Why’s that?”

“Because now he knows I can’t fuck you tonight. I’ve been waiting for a proper moment alone with you ever since this fucking leash came off, and now, he goes and makes it all his idea.”

The fact that Jace was upset cracked me up. And now that he mentioned it, I couldn’t say for sure that Jax hadn’t done exactly that.

“Wait a minute? You knew the leash was off this whole time?” I asked as that important tidbit settled into my brain.

“Of course, I knew, Darling. I felt it the instant it snapped as if I was pulling against something for so long, I had forgotten about it, and then, all at once, I was free.” Jace smiled, his hand coming up to mess with his hair. It was something I noticed him do on occasion, and it always resulted in him looking like he had just rolled out of bed.

“You knew, and you didn’t try to jump me at the first minor opportunity?” I put my hand on his thigh and squeezed lightly.
