“But I’ve seen demons pulled out of Justice’s dungeon before. There was one that took an entire week to grow back all the shit Justice tore off her body,” Jasper said, looking me in the eyes, showing me how much it would hurt him to see me in that state.
“Justice!” I said sternly as I turned back toward my fluffy psychopath. Part of me never forgot that demons feared him for a reason. I also knew, without a doubt, that Justice would never want to hurt me in that way.
“I was experimenting.” Justice shrugged.
Jasper rolled his eyes before looking back at me as if to say, see.
“Justice doesn’t want to hurt me in a way I wouldn’t want to be hurt,” I said loudly enough to have Justice confirm.
“But you don’t even know how much you might love the hurt,” Justice replied, which was not inaccurate but not at all what I was hoping for.
Thankfully, the mental calm I was giving to Jasper seemed enough to keep him level.
“If it takes more than an hour to heal, I will cut both his hands off,” Jax grumbled as he brought his attention back to the table.
“I’ll help,” Jace added enthusiastically, making Jax scowl.
Honestly, I loved watching the two of them interact with each other.
“I think I’d like to see some of the other rooms,” I suggested, hoping to get back towards a conversation that wasn’t so heavy.
“Why don’t you go explore, Princess. I think I wouldn’t mind chatting with Justice,” Jasper said, staring Justice down.
“Jax? Jace?” I asked. Maybe I would get them to have some bonding time.
They both pushed out of their chairs simultaneously, and I stifled a laugh. I was suddenly curious how much free will we have. The universe set up my complex death, allowing my demon mate’s lost soul vampire to sire me. Which, in turn, allowed the two of them to come together. This was where I was meant to be, and somehow everything would work out fine.
We left Justice to his fate in Jasper’s hands as we walked down the crowded hallways looking for another room to catch our interest. Jace opened a red door before shutting it quickly.
“Not that one,” he said before hurrying his pace, moving to the next door, opening it, and gesturing for us to come inside. The curiosity almost won, but I managed to let it go and zipped into the doorway. Jax strolled in slowly afterward, shutting and then locking the door behind him. There was a large x-frame in the middle of the room, complete with wrist and ankle shackles. An oversized black curved couch sat right in front of it.
“So, Darling, is this what Justice’s dungeon looks like?”
Jax cracked a smile, and so did I. “Absolutely not. Justice would never allow a couch in his dungeon.”
With that, Jax made a sound that somewhat resembled a low chuckle. That only made me smile wider.
“So, what was it like then?” Jace asked, confusion rolling off him.
“It’s Justice’s dungeon,” I said simply because how do you even try to explain that to someone who has never experienced it before. That was Justice’s safe place, and Jace may get to see the dungeon one day. But that will be Justice’s call, not mine.
“Would you get on the cross?” Jace asked, his gaze shifting behind me.
“Will you agree to try to work together?” Of course, I should have just tried sex to get them to cooperate. Jace looked questioningly to Jax; he was the decisive vote on this one. He nodded sharply.
“Up you go,” Jace said with a smile.
I went up to the frame, spreading my arms and legs in an X pattern, getting close to the restraints. The shackle clanked before suddenly wrapping around my right wrist, securing that arm in place. My left leg was secured a moment later, and I looked out to see Jax smirking at me from the couch, his ankle crossed over his knee as he lounged back, clearly intending to enjoy the show.
Jace sat down next to Jax before delicately putting his hand on Jax’s shoulder. He raised his other hand toward me, pointing toward the shackle near my other hand. At first, his hand swooped lightly, but frustrations quickly bubbled up inside him as the restraints failed to bend to his will.
“Forget it. I don’t want to spend the rest of my free day being touched for no reason,” Jax said, getting up quickly as his mood turned.
“Jace, can you come over to me, please?” I specifically said to Jace only.
Jax was pacing slightly, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked to the floor, muttering to himself.
“What’s up, Darling? Did you want me to release you?” he said with a flirtatious smirk as he came close enough for me to touch.
