“Yes, I suppose that does make sense since we are in Hell, and you do not have any soul removal powers,” Justice muttered, primarily to himself, which would be my guess.
“Justice,” I barked out; at least it was an improvement. His face came into view, and I saw his eyes black as his monster was out. “How long?”
His eyes started an assessment as he mentally calculated my injuries. “I would estimate another ten minutes; the asshole banged you up pretty good. Lots of little damage throughout makes it take longer to fit everything back in place.”
Ten more minutes wasn’t too bad.
The music started back up in the club and fog started to roll in near the ceiling before a light show, created by the DJ with his power, captivated all the other demons’ attention. They went back to dancing, quickly forgetting about the brawl between the vampire and the demon.
Jace carried me over to a small booth, propping me up so I could somewhat see what was going on. Jasper and Justice stood outside the cubicle, giving us some privacy.
“So, where’s Jax?” I asked Jace again, now that everything had calmed down.
“We’ve been in the angel realm, well, the waiting room for the angel room.”
“For three days?” My eyes blinked a lot. Fuck, I wanted my body back.
“Jax didn’t make an appointment, so the angel told us we would have to wait for an opening. Do you know the sun never goes down there? Just constant, non-stop blinding light. I couldn’t stay any longer, or I would have run out of blood and started to burn.” Jace put his hand on mine, bringing it up to rest on the table before placing his hand over top.
I could feel the warmth of his skin as it pressed against mine. An almost itching feeling overcame me as I attempted to move my finger.
“Why didn’t Jax come back too?” I heard Jasper ask.
“He didn’t want to lose his spot in line,” Jace answered, and finally, my finger twitched.
CHAPTER13
JACE
We stayed at the club until Mor’s body healed up, and then we moved on to shots and more dancing. No other fights or disturbances broke out throughout the evening, guess demons usually know their place in the pecking order. I watched with curiosity as Jasper and Mor disappeared for twenty minutes or so, both of them returning to the rest of the group energized. Mor would have needed the power bump after needing to heal so much.
The night carried on as everyone decided Jax could continue to wait in the angel realm for the rest of the night alone. Tonight was for the part of the pack that was here. We arrived back at the cabin just before the first light began to glow, signaling the new day.
“Stay out here for a while and watch the sunrise,” Mor said as Jasper and Justice went inside the cabin, clearly headed for bed. She took a seat on the little ledge before the doorway, looking out into the forest.
I headed over, leaning up against the side of the cabin, watching her face as the sky overhead slowly brightened. The trees cast their shadows as the light slowly brightened the entire empty sky. There weren’t any stars or moons or suns or even clouds in the sky here, and a large part of me missed that. By the way Mor looked at the sorry excuse for a sunrise; I realized she likely missed it too.
She looked over at me with an apologetic shrug. As if it were her fault the sunrise here was nothing compared to the numerous sunrises we saw together in the vampire realm. She dusted her ass off since her dress had risen throughout the evening, the bottom of her ass cheeks on full display. She went inside the cabin with a light huff, and a piece inside of me snapped.
I ran at full speed into the cabin, shutting the door securely. She had made it to the hallway, but I was on her in an instant, pushing her back up against the wall. Her slight gasp was the only invitation I needed before sweeping my tongue into her mouth. Kissing was the only thing I was able to do, so I damn well better make every kiss the absolute best she had ever had.
She hiked her leg around mine, pulling me into her, but I could not press against her like I wanted to. Like a fucking physical block, I told my hips to move, and they simply refused. Fuck Jax and his damn leash.
I groaned out in agony, pulling back from her. Her leg wrapped tightly around me as she begged me not to go. I looked into her eyes as they pleaded with me to stay.
“I don’t know how much longer I can take being chained up like a dog for his amusement,” I growled out, shifting my gaze away from her face. Most days, I handled it just fine. But moments like this, where I could smell just how aroused she was as she begged me with her eyes to fuck her against the wall, that was where the actual agony of this curse hit hardest.
“He’s coming along; it hasn’t even been that long. We can kiss. Or, I could always tie you up and fuck you.” She batted her lashes at me before smiling. Her tongue slipped out to lick the tips of her fangs.
“I want to touch you, Darling,” I said because it would never be enough until I tasted every inch of her flesh.
“Maybe he’s doing some weird psychological thing where I can’t touch him. So, he makes you feel my pain by not letting you touch me. And that teaches him…” Her little mental engine stalled out as she failed to connect logical dots. “And that teaches him nothing, so he’s probably being a dick for no reason,” she finished before sighing deeply.
“Well, if his ultimate goal is to make sure I can’t fuck you, he’s winning,” I muttered, looking down to my dick, who had begun to lose interest once the conversation turned to Jax. He was the ultimate boner killer.
“We both knew the moment you decided to come in here and push me against the wall; you wouldn’t be able to fuck me, Jace,” she purred into my ear, pulling me flush against her body.
The best I could do was not react and allow her to move me.
