“Did you want to go to DÆD tonight, Fox?”
“I’m sure we can find something fun to do,” I said, lifting my chin to look at him.
A small smile played across his lips as his finger lazily brushed across my skin. He looked at me like I was his entire universe, and the reality that I had four mates to spend eternity with washed over me, filling my heart. I couldn’t give any of them up, not for anything. Each of them reverberated perfectly with the different shades of my soul, giving me everything I could ever need.
A small sigh escaped me as my mind wandered to the others. My little time with Justice was needed, but I was starting to miss having all of my mates with me.
“Let’s pick out something fun for you to wear then,” Justice announced, pulling me up so I was lying on top of him entirely.
My hair cascaded down around us, falling onto his bare chest. My finger came up to trace his runes' green inked lines as I felt him growing hard underneath me. I raised an eyebrow before glancing between our bodies. “You know, you’ll make us late if you start that again.”
“Fashionably late, my fox. Late and wearing something so hot, everyone knows exactly why you were late.”
I couldn’t help but giggle, and Justice took his time ridding me of my clothes. Fashionably late it is.

“Don’t you look good enough to eat,” Jasper announced across the club as Justice and I breezed into DÆD. The bouncers had opened the doors for us as we arrived; no words were needed.
Justice picked out my outfit, which would have been way too much had I still been a human. Thankfully, I was a demon now. It was a strapless black leather dress that molded to my curves like a second skin. The dress stopped about mid-thigh, but some buckles and belts crisscrossed across the entire thing. My boots stopped just above my knee, leaving only a slight amount of my skin on display.
Jasper was hanging out with Ryan, Springfield, and Zebadiah at the bar. We didn’t have a private balcony this time. He seemed much happier than when we left, so I guess he did need some time away from the rest of us. I hoped it wasn’t just me that he had needed time away from.
I halted mid-step, causing Justice to stop abruptly and knock into another demon. The demon’s head turned sharply with a deadly glare until his eyes landed on Justice before he hurried away without so much as a word. My attention fit back to Jasper and his easy-going smile.
“You’re concerned, Fox,” Justice said, moving into my line of sight.
“He seems much better.” I motioned to Jasper with my eyes.
“You are concerned that he is happier now?”
“I’m concerned because he is happier now that he spent some time away from me.”
Justice smiled lightly, and I could feel his emotions as they shifted around. He had gone from worried to amused, which felt oddly reassuring.
“Jasper needs space sometimes. Just like Jax needs his space, I’m sure you will need space after eons.”
“You don’t need space,” I replied, the mood inside me shifting back towards neutral as I used a calming mental shield to replace the more hyped-up one I had dawned for the club.
“I need space all the time, Fox, but I get my space inside the minds of animals.”
I could agree with him there; being inside the mind of an animal was so much more straightforward than being a demon or a human. A certain kind of peace animals seemed to have mastered much better than anyone else.
“So why don’t you,” Justice started as he moved around the side of me, clearing my view of Jasper, “go over and talk to him before freaking out that he’s happy.”
Jasper looked our way; his smile had fallen as he watched our exchange. I wasn’t trying to ruin his happiness either.
Before getting my feet to move, Jasper put his glass on the bar and headed toward us.
“I,” I started weakly, but before I could attempt to explain everything, he pulled me in for a kiss so searing my toes curled in my boots. His hands felt like fire as they swept across my exposed skin, loving and cherishing me with their touch.
“Hell, I’ve missed you, Princess,” Jasper said with a deep low growl.
A bubble of laughter washed over me as I could feel his emotions slide against my shield. He was happy to see me.
“I was just worried for a moment you were happy because I was gone,” I whispered. I wasn’t sure he would even be able to hear over the noise of the music and the other demons' chatter.
Jasper picked me up, and I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist. At least I was high enough now to look into his eyes that glowed like living embers. I gave him a simple peck on the lips as my hands ran across his horns, making him shiver.
