Mor stood suddenly, palms flat on the table as she leaned forward, showing off a fair amount of cleavage. Yup, definitely going to keep moving forward until she can touch me day in and day out.

“Let’s go then,” she raised an eyebrow and smirked at me.

“Now?”

“Yes, now. You offered to take the spell off Jace. I would like that done sooner rather than later,” Mor said.

Jace smiled wickedly at her like he already had a million ideas of what he would do to her when the bond was broken. Yeah, I bet he had plenty of plans.

“If the spell caused the injury,” I made sure to amend. “I still want him motivated to work with the pack, which means hunting. We will not be hunting if I can’t get you out of bed.”

“Maybe you should just stay in bed with us then, Jax; I’m sure Mor would love that,” Justice added, which was not helping.

“Let’s go see Aggie then,” I said, getting up with a sigh.

* * *

“Oh, my Lucifer, she is stunning,” Aggie said, giving Mor a good look.

None of us had even bothered to change. Thanks to Jasper’s controlled use of his power, we weren't wet anymore. Mor did insist on attempting to dry Justice’s pants for him, which posed no challenge to her. She seemed to have a handle on most of her powers.

“I’ve heard a lot about you, but Jax neglected to tell me you were smoking hot,” Mor said with an easy smile as she followed Aggie into the house.

Aggie led us into the social room, where there were couches and chairs beside a large roaring fireplace. Justice headed straight for a spot on the floor next to the fireplace. Jasper seated himself on one of the smaller sofa couches; he took up almost the whole thing. I sat on the far end of my couch, while Jace took a seat at the opposite end. Mor was standing, apparently explaining the situation to Aggie.

“Jax is right; the spell couldn’t have caused that. That sounds like a soul pain, not a corporeal injury. Are you sure he was feeling Jax’s pain?” Aggie asked, taking a seat on the chair next to the side of the couch I was sitting in.

Mor sat down on the floor between Justice’s spread legs, and he cradled her to him.

“It was the same leg at the same time that Jax was injured. Hell of a coincidence if it had been from someone else,” Mor explained.

“Let me see your soul,” Aggie said, looking at Jace.

“I’m sorry, you want my what?” Jace said.

“I need to see your soul and Jax’s too. Figure out why the two of you are linked.” Aggie looked to me next.

Fuck, I hated this so much. I opened my palm, extending it out toward Aggie so she could get this fucking thing over with.

Roughly she grabbed my hand as I closed my eyes and focused on breathing. I felt the tug as she used her power to get into my soul. Aggie had the gift of prophecy, which only worked via touch. Her very base connection to the sheer power and fate of souls also made her the best spell demon in all of Hell.

After thirty grueling seconds, she released my hand, and I opened my eyes to see Aggie headed straight for Jace. His hand open and waiting for her. Her fingernail stroked his palm, dragging to the tip of his middle finger before she gently placed her palm on his. Her eyes turned all white as she sorted through his soul.

A look of bewilderment crossed her face, and she retracted her hand before sitting back down. “That’s weird,” she said almost passively.

“What’s weird, Aggie?” I always hated it when she was like this. It didn’t make her mysterious; it was just annoying.

“It’s not the spell, but something is going on with your souls. They sound the same, like the beginning and the end of the same song. I’ve never felt anything like it before, but I’m pretty sure I read about it once. I have to figure out which book it was in.”

“I thought you knew the future?” Justice commented, and Aggie threw a pillow at him. He deflected it with his hand, and into the fireplace it went.

Aggie glared at Justice, “that isn’t how it works, and you know it.”

“Why are they feeling each other’s pain now?” Mor asked.

“I would guess, proximity, the future pack bond, I don’t have a clue. I can start flipping through books again and see if I encounter it.” Aggie crossed one leg over the other as she sat back in her chair. She didn’t exactly seem in a rush to get this figured out.

“Any way to prevent us from feeling each other’s pain?” Jace asked.
