“You got it, beautiful.”

“I love it when you call me that.”

His gorgeous smile appears. “I love calling you what you are.”

“You’re too much, Cooper Cruz.”

He shrugs. “Nah, I’m just right for you.”

He is. He’s the perfect combination of everything I could ever want in a man.

Damn. A chance meeting at a laundromat. Funny how something like that can change a person’s life. Mine is for the better.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

COOPER

“I got an idea.”

The table around me is quiet as all the eyes come my way.

Pops called church early in the day, saying he had some things we all needed to discuss. With everything going on, I haven’t had a chance to talk to my dad about my ideas. It sucks because I would’ve liked his thoughts on it first.

“Let’s hear it,” Pops orders.

“Business is good. Really fuckin’ good. But we need to get the money clean. X and Banner can only take so much, and we’re pushing it right now.”

“Becs and I were just talkin’ about this. Keep goin’,” Pops says, strumming his beard.

“I’ve been doin’ a shit-ton of research, but it was Bristyl who slapped me in the head.”

“In more ways than one!” Ryker calls out, and everyone chuckles.

“Damn right. Alright, she ran storage units for Sinister Sons. Not only would it be perfect if we should happen to need something like that, but it would be a great income. I’d prefer if we kept it cash only. That way, Uncle Sam keeps his nose out of it for the most part, and we can deposit what we need. But if we have to do credit cards, we could do a few, but leave open a row or so of the units, make up rental agreements, and funnel the money that way.”

“What’d we have to do?” Dagger asks.

“Find the land and have a company build the units. The people will come.”

“You make it sound easy.”

“For the most part, it is. If we vote on it today, I can start looking for places to build that are close to here, but not too close, and get estimates.”

“How much?” Becs asks.

“When it’s all said and done, no more than five hundred K, depending on the land costs.”

“What about security?” Buzz questions.

“That’d be your expertise. We’d need a surveillance system, of course, but we’d also need some kind of key card or code with a door that only opens to that code, which changes monthly. That way, we don’t have to babysit it all the time.”

“And what about rental agreements?” Tug throws in from across the room.

“Bristyl had a phone where people could call. She’d have them meet her at the office to sign the papers. If we let her set up shop in Banner, she can do that from there. That way, people stay out of our shit.”

Banner Automotive is on the property, but has a separate entrance that is highly monitored.

“You’ve got this all planned out, son?” Pops asks.
